I really don't think any of these revolutions have been initiated with the hope that western countries will come to their rescue. People have realized the power of masses and these revolutions have only been against the dictatorship. That sort of answers the question that there probably won't be a revolution like this in Iran. Bahrain, likely, Saudi Arab, depends on how the Saudis handle their own. Also, social media and modern technology have just aided to the cause, they are not really the reason behind revolutions, as some would believe.
As far as "our" cold war efforts are concerned, those efforts actually led to the installation of dictatorship in the middle-east in the first place, helping the cause and control of US.
Yes, it is better for these countries to actually start building a political infrastructure as these kind of oppressive monarchies can't go on forever. The instability will be there, but it all really depends on how well they fair in avoiding a clash within themselves. Of course, only time will tell.
Wind is a company with cheaper rates and cheaper call quality (comparatively). It is for people who can not afford the higher rates of Robellus (Rogers, Bell, Telus), hence the dearth of top quality handsets. They do offer lower end phones from Huawei, Nokia, RIM etc. and that serves the purpose all right.
Indeed, it's a very small shift, but looking at the past 30 odd years and the calamities and "jitters" earth has faced, don't you think it's adding up to something significant? I really believe that the number of natural disasters will increase in the future, since we have royally screwed up things under the sea (oil), above the clouds (ozone) and everything in between.
You may need to connect to App Store or iTunes for NFC to work, as that is the only way Apple can become the middle man and milk money from both sides. Does anyone know how secure NFC is over the air against third person snooping around?
How can you fire someone based on a "rant" of a blogger? If the blogger didn't suggest termination of Mr. Moore from the university, how can it be his fault? Even if he did, it's not like he's head of the university's board making all these decisions. If I declare in my blog that Mr. Moron is really a moron (which in all probabilities, he is), and his company fires him saying, "Surely, we don't want any moron to be in our ranks", is that really my fault?
How about making the To and From line RED or some striking color when a Reply All button is clicked. The user will get accustomed with this 'theme' and they will immediately realize that they may have hit the 'Reply All' button accidentally. It's not a NP hard problem I suppose.
The companies I have worked for and the university I've studied at all have the policy against Reply All emails, specially when group aliases are included in the original emails.
.. is an Arabic word and since the Quran is in Arabic, hence the use of word in it. But it cannot be said that Fitna is a Quranic word. Secondly, why is it that slashdot is discussing something religious? I thought it was a tech related site...
A US based company in Pakistan is using WiMax for its call center. Sales Rep will be sitting at home working with WiMax and will be monitored by a webcam (I know it sounds lousy and 1984ish, hope it works). This will introduce a whole new way for outsourced companies to work here.
because it's more ... secure?

Next you will hear Apple being the second most secure company, beaten marginally by none other than our favourite, HB Gary.

When will MS learn? I just installed IE 9, it asked me to restart Windows 7! Feels like I'm back in '98!

That's the closest you'll come to be a spiderman, of the adult movies of course.
