I don't believe there is a scientific reason for it. I think this was just the range that the FCC allocated as usable for this purpose (and other purposes). This band, plus the ISM 5Ghz band.
And on the other, other hand, WIPO is as toothless as the UN, and I don't think anyone is in any position to hurt China, or even attempt to. We can't force them to do anything they don't want to do. And that includes not giving money to Disney because they have a Disney themed park in their country.
You would change the date in your BIOS before attempting any such nonsense, to a date several months earlier before installing the OS on the new drive. No scripts needed to alter timestamps. Then change the date, a day or week at a time, and reboot, do a little websurfing, etc, to build up a few files with timestamps in between install date and the current date.
No, it said the earlier order specified that an RIAA's person was to make the image. The new order says agreed upon expert.
And I agree, it does actually sound pretty reasonable. Regardless, anyone who gets a subpoena from the RIAA should be smart enough to swap out hard drives and install a new OS before the case even gets that far anyway. Assuming they have something to hide. Seems pointless really.
They weren't measuring the effects of changes. They were measuring the amount of change. To evolve doesn't necessarily mean more advanced, just changed.
Why would anyone give a flying fuck what the license agreement says? How would they even begin to enforce this? Why would I even have the slightest reason to worry about it?
That sounds a bit more like fascism than corporate greed. Who banned the act of drinking unapproved rainwater, the local (likely paid off) government, or corporate contract? I can't even fathom how one would suggest enforcing such a rule.
Even if a license exists on the USB key, no case exists to support that a license contained on a random object you happen to find is binding to anyone.
Last time I checked, you can't produce, record, edit, manufacture, package, or distribute silence. Well, at the least you can't do that without being sued by John Cage's estate.
Close. Their business model is more about making people feel guilty about everything, and extorting money from them. The protestants have taken the other, feel-good route.
hahaah.... too late buddy! Now that you've stuck the idea in my head... I must try it out... But I'll use a softer plastic big wheel, with a "Kid Sister" doll taped to it. Hilarity shall surely ensure.
I'd play chicken with her. Of course she'd then probably call the cops screaming that somebody tried to "ram" her. Sounds like she could use a good ramming anyway, loosen up that clenched anus.
Or you could say, until Microsoft's claim is proven in court... Until all this EULA bs is proven or denied in a court all this debate is toothless. Abiding by the EULA is just playing it safe, but not yet a proven requirement.
So if Sony includes a EULA notice inside the packaging for my new Incubus CD, (assuming I'd even buy a CD from sony *snicker*) proclaiming that I an only licensed to play it on Sony brand CD players, you think that's legally binding? And Sony could sue and win if they found out I was playing it on a Pioneer? Music is classed as IP. This example is just as stupid (and unenforceable) as MS telling you what kind of machine you're allowed to install on (real vs virtual).
You do know, XP will not automatically shut down if you start missing patch Tuesdays. I keep my windows update disabled permanently. None of mine have any problems.
But here's the problem - This time they know exactly how much you're willing to pay. The next time they'll be able to shill-bid you up to the amount you bid before you dropped out.
Assuming one is dumb enough to attempt to buy another item from that same seller, you have a point. If I think a seller is artificially driving bids up on one auction, I blacklist him forever. I have a little list of names I won't buy from for reasons like that.
So it's ebay's fault that your country is full of parents who can't control their children's behavior? I guess you should close down brick & morter storefronts if you see too many 5th graders inside using their parents money as well, right? Your entire argument is nonsense. First time I've seen the think-of-the-children argument used against ebay.

Oh no! My Firefox NoScript extension makes me a hacker! I'm gonna get sued too.
I guess you never change the channel during commercials, and never skip the previews when you watch your DVD's, right?

I just checked their page, and they also offer either no OS installed, or Suse Linux installed.

Yay, anonymous propaganda trolls.
Too bad I have no mod points.

You'd think they'd WANT the discovery to end.
They had no evidence to support their claims, which is one reason they lost.
With the frequency at which MS copies other companies products, you'd think they'd be delighted if software was not patentable.

French, swinehundt! :)
And his name is Koreaman.
I'm easily amused today.

And just wait until millions of myspace pages have Vista voice commands embedded into them.
