The PS4's security does appear to have been at least partially compromised, however. A recent video appears to show Linux running on a PS4, along with a version of Pokemon. Note that we don't yet have independent verification of this, so there's a chance (albeit probably a slim one given the track record of the group in question) that this is a hoax.

Yes, they got in through a FreeBSD security vulnerability. The Pokemon game is running in a Gameboy Advance emulator. No, it's not a hoax. Team Fail0verflow has a GitHub repository with all the patches needed for Linux and its GPU drivers. You can follow their Twitter account for updates.

The low-end Core and Atom series already allow designs without a fan. Also, many modern laptops stop the fan when idle, as the energy efficiency of the mainline chips has gotten so good.

Your idea of building the CPU board inside the screen part is interesting, manufacturers should experiment with that.

Suffice it to say that Windows 7 is the most well-polished turd that Microsoft has released. It's a garbage can with a lot of expensive rockets taped on it. However, at the end of the day, it does the job. Best PC operating system.

Laptop screen brightness adjustment goes multiple steps with one keypress in Ubuntu and Mint. I still can't believe how such a basic feature is broken, release after release. Yes, I know that there are hacks to fix it, but I should not need to manually fix something silly like that.

Forking is normal. That's how open-source projects handle differences in philosophy, transparency, coding direction, etc.

It also prevents a nerd coin system ever becoming a competitor to the traditional bank system. It's also why Linux hasn't become a realistic contender of Windows on the PC desktop. There's many projects, but no single standardized high-quality system. Especially a money system is something that cannot bounce around all the time. Just when ordinary people are about to discover Bitcoin, you can't go telling them that Ponycoin is the new rage. They will get frustrated and shout "Aw shucks, too complicated! At least my credit card works just fine."
