I got one, took me a long time to get through the servers being jammed.
But why is this news? I know, every time we we post a Slashdot story about hammering a server we should post it again!
Brilliant! I just doubled the amount of stories on Slashdot. Maybe infinitely if we keep on crashing them.
uh, there are plenty of changes to this game.
Orb stacking change, new heroes, new unique abilities never seen in DoTA (Zephyr), courier abilities, reconnecting, stats, matchmaking, maps, new graphics for well known models, lots of balancing with items.
Also your argument (I would say QQing) about casters not scaling in any meaningful way is bullshit.
1) Casters are more powerful early compared to carries and are usually support.
2) Carries (usually agility heroes) are underpowered at the beginning of the game.
3) It is your playground as a caster early game. You do good there, you are likely going to win.
4) Like hell you don't scale well. Zeus from DotA scaled to do more damage as everyone else got more powerful. There are lots of examples.
5) Caters are usually support. It's like you're complaining that you choose a cleric to heal in a MMO and can't dps well now. That is what is great, after 1 game you can pick a new hero.
Full of crap again about not making a move. The ones who make move are the winners. A key gank one a hero. A tower push, an awesome ult pulled off to coordinate your team annihilating the other side.
I could go on and on about other points...
My guess is you're a n00b at the game still. Which is fine. The learning curve to this game hurts as much as Eve Online.
I am trying to get a pic of this Vandeberghâ(TM)s 25 cm Newtonian telescope. I wanted to get an idea of the size of a telescope you would have to use to get his kind of picture. Google is of no avail. Help?
For anyone who has raided they can quickly figure out 1/2 the battle to learning a brand new boss is to be creative.
You go into the instance and have no idea how any of the abilities work or any of the mobs. You need to use your wit in order to figure out how a the mechanics of the game works.
I would argue PvP is more creative. Quick decisions every second on what to do, and where to be.
Might as well ban all sports if you are singling out games.

I always loved this series of books. My professor recommended this book to me and it has helped me understand the language much better then any other book. It's interesting, funny, and insightful! A very different take on presenting material then other programing books.
As a college student I have a hard time reading through dull school text books. Sometimes I don't even have to open or own a text book in order to get through the class.
Although you don't need to buy a book anymore to learn a language with the huge resources the internet has to offer.
You can get a job doing testing work. Your job will consist mainly of running through a bunch of tests every 2 weeks to a month to check if there are any bugs with the latest build.
However there are many testing jobs that require programming, testing code, automation, etc. You should be able to find a job though you can get away with no coding. I have some coworkers who never programmed anything here and are in testing, but I have some that's 1/2 of what they do.
You can make anywhere from 40-60k starting plus benefits doing testing. If you get good you can manage the team or a project in the future and make anywhere from 80-100k.
Testing isn't for everyone though and there are a TON of different kinds of testing in the field.
Yah, on the high level of the organization they do that, but on the lower level it is a much better situation.
It's basically a don't ask don't tell policy for the scouts.
The scouts don't actively chase after gays. If you are in the scouts just don't run around shouting you are gay and you love men.
You shouldn't judge the scouts at the head, but by the whole. The packs in scouts are usually very open and don't care what religion, beliefs, or orientation you are. They just want to go camping, spend quality time with their kids, and have fun.
Also, I know we have had Jewish kids in my troop, there have been weekend religious ceremonies for them at summer camp. We also have special badges for religion that ARE NOT Christian.
Player skill actually takes a bit. Some people think it is just click one button and win (ok some encounters with certain classes are like that). For instance healers are hectic to play, heal the group, heal the MT if you are assigned to him, debuff those with afflictions, conserver mana, don't cast too high rank heals, make sure your heals over time are refreshed, battle rez if you need to, rebuff tanks that die and come back, run away from the giant monster that is chasing you now. And thats only PvE, PvP has other stuff too.
Yes you have to do all that. It takes some skill in order to understand the class and a lot and I mean A LOT of concentration.
I'm sorry but you don't seem to have a very good understanding of the classes in wow. You may find that there are some things sterotypical about the game. Mages = boom, warriors = tank, priests = healers. But they really broke the mold of the game with all of the other specs there are out there and you can change from healing to damage without having to level a new character. Shadow priests, tanking feral druids, tanking pallies.
WoW is also very noob friendly to getting good gear to compete with to get even better gear. You just need to put a hour or two a day to start building up a nice collection of purples and you'll get them in a few weeks or less.
WoW is by no means perfect but still is the best balanced MMO have played in a long while.

We all know what happens when you try to travel that fast!

Slashdot's Storage must of been attacked! I still see zero comments on stories.
You mean they bought a great game franchise. Microsoft bought Bungie.
Lines of code is not a good metric for performance. I'm in a software engineering class listening to how to use metrics on code.
I thought you used primes for encryption?
Can someone who is in the "know" on this matter please translate it to English for us please?

Anyone know what you would have to pay for taxes on this stuff. It still costs to money to win free stuff.
