I especially don't need a group wasting my money on candidates I don't approve of without my permission! Been through that a couple of years ago with my wife's job. The union screwed them bad. Now they don't have a union because it got voted out. Good riddance as far as I'm concerned.

Bush-bashing is more important than stopping terrorists. I see. That makes sense. Perhaps those of you that are so vehemently against the NSA's actions would like to be in the next crowd of people that die from a terrorist attack when, not if, it happens? Would that make you happy if it meant dying because your whining and crying changed the law to make it illegal to wiretap a conversation from a phone outside our country to a known terrorist? If that meant that call wasn't monitored and they were able to carry out another attack and you or your family died? Would that make you happy? How about letting the terrorists know everything else we're doing to monitor them so they change their tactics and make it harder for us to stop them? Would that make you happy?

I REALLY wish people would stop making statements of "fact" that the wiretaps were illegal. They most likely weren't to begin with and there is NO evidence that they were at all. Until this point is settled, I would like to establish a moratorium on the words "illegal NSA wiretaps" but unfortunately I can't. People seem to be forgetting that the man on the phone in the USA was a known AlQueda associate who was talking to another known associate in the middle east. Where's the problem? It's LEGAL for the NSA to wiretap that conversation! The NSA deals with people outside the USA making contact with others outsite the USA AND those outside contacting people inside our country.

Let's get the hearings started immediately so those who keep wrongly saying this was illegal can start preparing their crow.

The only reason I still have a Verizon land line is just that - it's a physical copper wire pair going back to their switches. If my power goes out and I have an emergency it's a 99% chance that my phone still works, unlike my computer or cel phone. There's a huge advantage to having the direct wired phones.

What's so hard about putting something in a login script to update a program? We do it whenever something needs patched or installed. No problems and we're on a large Novell network. Just a batch file (yes, an MS-DOS batch file) in the login script and we can do registry updates, etc. and it works great!

You and me both, but our school district is forcing the use earlier and earlier. We have kindergarten computer classes now. Granted, they're only using games and paint programs but the intent is to get the kids used to using a keyboard and mouse.

As our district tech director I see (and struggle with) the lack of ordinary skills that our kids, and kids in general have these days. Instead of making them think, they have something to think for them.

Peace by definition is the absence of conflict. Tell that to Hawaii, Japan, Germany, France, Great Britain and anyone else that has been through a war in the last few centuries. War stopped Hitler and the Japanese, it stopped Hussein from completely devouring Kuwait.

I'm not a war-monger but sometimes you have to step up and defend by going on the offense. By eliminating or severely crippling your enemy you restore peace. I don't think we have any military conflict with Japan or Germany right now nor does anyone else.
