I call on all slashdotters to join the protest against the unjust targeting of high speed probes against such innocent planatery bodies as mars, and this commet.

On the other hand its nice to see nasa planning a mission where they _deliberatly_ crash probes as opposed to what usually happens..

  3. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. on 'Matrix' Sequels In Trouble? · · Score: 3

I went and saw this movie last night and highly recommend it.

The same guy did the fight sequences as in the matrix and i think it would be fair to say the fight sequences in CTHD are way better than the matrix. (and more frequent.)

Its also fun to compare the number of taoist quotes in CTHD to matrix:
"all reality is an illusion" :: "there is no spoon"

So if your salivating over Matrix 2 already, you really MUST go see this film.

Actually Australia and Japan are cooperating on a space program based at Woomera (where a lot of US and British missiles used to get tested).

The Japaneese have been testing an unpowered return vehicle that can be attached to a rocket shuttle style, deploy a satellite, then glide back down to earth.

The glide back down to earth bit is what they were testing at woomera.

There was talk of it being used as a CRV as well.

Still on a more serious note, Bluetooth support is going to rock!

I already use my Nokia 8210 with IR to check my email on my VX and it'll be a huge bonus when i dont have to take my phone out of my pocket and point it at the ir window to get it to work..

The article mentions that bluetooth support initially will be via hardware glove, which is a shame though.

  9. A good vibrator, a bad space ship. on The Reactionless Space Drive? · · Score: 3

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction...

Magnet josts one direction, spaceship jolts the other.

Spaceship retracts magnet to repeat process, spaceship is retracted towards magnet EXACTLY as much as initial jolt.

This is a GOOD way to make a vibrator, but a bad way to make a space ship.

So wouldn't it be easier to just 'chip' your player? Or buy a cheap korean copy with a hidden option to turn watermark detection off?
