What editor? This quote looks like it got copy pasted from a free German -> Yoda-speak translator

128MB PC800 RDRAM still can keep up with SD and DDR (II) RAM

I have 256 MB of PC800 RDRAM. I'm planning to switch to dual channel DDR 400, from what I've read RDRAM is much slower than DDR (dual channel), let alone DDR2. Can you show some benchmarks supporting your position?

  3. Treacherous Computing on Trustworthy Computing · · Score: 1

Don't be deceived by the headline! To see how ugly this beast really is, take a look at Ross Anderson's excellent TC FAQ http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~rja14/tcpa-faq.html. It's the best investment you can make (20 minutes) to get informed on computer ethics, and now is the time to be informed.

ADOM is pretty good, I played it myself more than I should, also check out IVAN: http://ivan.sourceforge.net/

Its not as big as ADOM as it is relatively young, but you start in a tropical island, can eat bananas and drop the peels in front of the slaves so they slip and break their legs, then you can take them and beat some monsters underground with it.

It also has a religious system similiar to ADOM but you can pray more often. The only thing I miss is magic as its not implemented yet but you can make up for it with wands of necromancy or the several effects the gods will make every few hours when you pray, like earthquakes or summoning a mistress to fight on your side.

After the detector I would want Duke Nukem's microwave gun, and shoot people with more cash than they deserve (especially politicians).

Here in Brasil a politician was caught with approximately U$ 100.000 in his pants (http://www.radiobras.gov.br/anteriores/2005/sinop ses_0907.htm)!

    RFID in notes: U$ 1.000.000

    Note detector: U$ 5.000.000

    Microwave gun: U$ 50.000.000

Watching a politician's pants explode: Priceless!

  8. Help the RIAA side ! on Music Labels Charge Too Much For Microsoft · · Score: 1

Judging by the comments, they are clearly losing the battle. You should support the losing side to even the balance, then near the end, when they're about to be mutually destroyed, we post a story with a largely exaggerated title and a couple of links: http://www.microsoft.com/ http://www.riaa.com/ and watch all our dreams come true (except for a date.. but considering those are both the biggest time-wasters in Slashdot, if they're gone we may get bored quickly and actually *gasp* leave our parents basements!)

  11. Thats what they want you to think! on Rats 'Cripple' NZ Web Access · · Score: 1

Now I got it figured out. It's a money making machine with a one time investment. Perfect! The ACTUAL REAL plan: 1. Hire a bunch of rats to destroy the cables, and bring local internet down. 2. Pretend downtime didn't exist, and charge for it anyway. 3. Ignore customer complaints on the matter. 3. Post on slashdot saying the RIAA/MPAA did it. 4. Sue your local electrical company alleging lost profits. 5. Let the rats go unpunished, so they can do it again. 6. Profit!
