Being trained to react to stimulus is all you've been doing all these years. Call it a trick, if you want to... typing and using a computer must a human trick too then. Because I doubt that you totally understand how it works.
At this point, I'm not sure God can save Disney's Soul, let alone one really talented man.
Might save their revenue stream though. Even I'll buy those DVDs - not just torrent them. I imagine he gets a kick back each time and I think he deserves it... too bad Disney gets more $$ than he does.
Hence MS has "spun off" a division for XBox because they know that the "Borg", as Gates referred to MS in a Time article I read, cannot be cool. Additionally, MS has stated that the original XBox was never intended to make money. It was just to get the name and brand out into the market so that they could work on total domination with the second release.
Even SOE can't make this game any worse. I've never seen a more unstable and buggy release of any softwaer. Heck, these guys even made MS look good - and that's saying something!
One of the things that has always irked me about benchmark testing is the lack of detail on exactly what they did. If you've ever read a scientific paper, then you know what I'm talking about. Oh sure, they need the dumbed down version for when gandma is buying bill a "new-fangled computer card", but what about the rest of us?
There's also the issue that some of us play games or use apps that are not DirectX, but OpenGL. Where are the solid benchmarks for that?
All the "built in defense systems" won't keep a company alive forever if the market won't sustain them. Microsoft enjoys the Wal-Mart effect. People love to hate them and say "not here!" but they still go out and shop at Wal-Mart.
If MS were so destined to die and were only cheating to stay afloat, they'd be gone by now. The market just isn't that forgiving.
As far as Abobe goes (since they recently "aquired" Macromedia), ActionScript is JavaScript based. The major difference between DHTML (HTML + JavaScript) and ActionScript is the API they use.
Some what like writting code for another OS. Even if it's the same processor the code won't run in the wrong OS.
Just instead of OS, think OE (operating environment) and you're good.
True humor is their #1 rule for their codes of conduct is
"Compliance with Laws, Rules and Regulations Company policy requires that all employees, officers and directors of the Company, comply fully with both the spirit and the letter of all laws, rules and regulations..."
How does SpyWare comply with the Spirit of the law?
Eliot Spitzer is quickly becomming my favorite government official. First corporate fraud, now spyware. What's next? Google bombing? However, one has to wonder if he's just doing all this because he wants to be govenor of NY, or because he actually cares.
The concept is you fight back now, and eventually you stop being a target because you're the one who'll fight back. The problem is that some people take this as a challenge and the circle just goes 'round-n'round.
- Move the class pace with the top 33% of the class, leave the stragglers behind.
- Don't allow parents to bully teachers
- Make grades public knowledge, a little pride or embarassment goes a long way
- Make social privillages based on performance (ie, very poor gardes then no High School)
- Give tax and other benefits to teachers
- Only keep the good teachers, because the job is in demand and the system can be picky
- Pay teachers a living wage
- Extend the school day from six to nine hours
- Teach kids from day one that life is not a free ride and that only by working hard (and I mean hard) can you make anything of yourself
That should be a good start.Yeah, hence it's a lot more secure. Notice, people actually take notice when things go wrong - unlike national security, which is an oxymoron.
Well, at least I'm reasonably sure it's not a virus - too hard to get, and this is a Windows box. ^_^

I was just going to ask about that exact card. Bummer...

Tab over blown there - but I see your point and I have to agree.
And Nightscrawler is the fastest... he teleports. X distance / 0 time = infinite speed. ^_^

I know, off topic but that game rocks. BUT, you can't actually make Batman or they rename you GenericHero9873

Most likely they'd all say you owe it to them, fortunatly state taxes are deductilble from your federal taxes so might have a few pennies left.
