    They get to vote in Mexico and understanding blogs could be an early warning to the US gov to spend more cash on their candidates.
    Work harder on smearing the far left or right option as the blogs and web 2.0 fill with real local news.
    Links with Communists, some dark military operation that was exposed years ago, a foreign cult giving out big cash gifts, extra homes and no taxes, strange bank accounts, extramarital issues ect. that would fit the "left" or "right".
    Mix as needed to ensure nothing changes.

    The US gov really wants to detect hints of:
    "When the money stops flowing down to the man in the street ..." (Gerald Celente)
    before smart people with no money and lots of free time ....
    This can save US taxpayers from putting "particular groups" in the wrong security context or seeing a real color revolution form without embassy minders.
    Say from keeping tabs on your blog via a gateway at a boring network operations centre to sneak and peek to ....

    If you live within 100 miles of the US land and coastal borders (along with ~70% of the US), your data is going to be gone for many of the people you may want to interact with.

    You have new delay period options in "blocks" of 90 days, Section 7 covers "voluntarily disclose content that is pertinent to addressing a cyberattack" - ie your telco reports you.

    It really depends on how open or closed the system is. Was it like some dumb 1980's unit that did math really fast? A country could get them in for "agriculture" with most going for nuclear dreams after been wired up.
    In the 1980's that dual use import trick would work.
    But for people sorting or telco work, anyone bought in to help install the system would have some idea.

    The only thing Australia fears is the loss of the NSA pipe and "boondoggle" export deals for US mil hardware and software.
    For that we will say anything, vote, spy on or back any war. We can listen deep into Asia and the Pacific but lack the cash for any real ongoing "Australia alone" crypto race.
    Its win win, the US and UK get a location to spy from, we get to share. With that comes the stringent security measures and a deep Australian understanding of US private contractors lobbying in the US.
    Australia knows to buy up big, play along and be the best friend.
    ASIO feels it can grab new powers, gets to act internally and play on the international stage with less oversight, its back to the 1970's with an informant in every community group and media related workplace.

    Between Google using "correct" algorithms, COICA meting into the PROTECT IP act to remove all traces of a site - what is going to be found?
    DMCA safe harbor provisions are still in place but will the PROTECT IP act lets sign of infringement be used more in court?
    Your comfort zone is what you will watch an ad for most of the time and a guess what will be found more and more ... better ads on sites you like.
    Any other content will drop off fast, never to be found again as the ad funded search is working just fine.

    If your server is found to be hurting the US tax system at a time of worldwide war by reducing sales ( ~supporting terrorism), a diplomat will have words with your federal government.
    If that fails to get your server off the net, military force to capture terrorism suspects becomes an option.
    The owner, admin ect face been captured on a battlefield. A charge or offer to face trial might come up one day.

    Licenses for 50 users with 10 personas each? Lets try the math...with 10% of 7.5 million.
    Say 50 templates, really simple personas per agent? ~50 US states. Thats down to a few 100's of agents per state to ensure technically, culturally and geographacilly consistent personas.
    Update each one for a few mins per week, database each friend request via automated image recognition and ip/isp details...

    Google offered a vision of been more open to set itself apart and draw in mindshare.
    Now the code stops in one area. What will be closed next and why...

    Today its "patch history", then "proprietary hardware secrets" "proprietary software secrets" "proprietary ad secrets" "proprietary telco setting" and wait for the Canadian "national security" line too.
    Soon you might get enough to write your software. At that point Apple and MS start looking helpful.

    Now that an average developer is using their systems, this could be a test, just how closed can Google go?
    As for quality, this is the efforts of a for profit effort with strong branding and open code connections.
    Why the functionality gap? Its their code, they are funded... Did the ipad2 cpu/gpu jump their roadmap? Has Windows suddenly got better in some area?
