I don't know about Austraila but in most US states, lawmakers are mostly elected from districts which have bounderies that are drawn by the same lawmakers who make sure to draw (AKA: Gerrymander) them to include a strong majority of their supporters. There are some exceptions but for the most part, the legislators pick their voters not the other way around.
One possible application would be to etch the parents names on a newborns finger or toe nails just after birth. Could be a failsafe to keep from having a mixup.

Good for you. That's the point. If I felt that I was getting bad service from a company or that the product was inferior, I would shop elsewhere. I never felt that walmart was overpriced for what you got as much as the stores were clutterd and dirty.
Price is ulitimatly what the consumer is willing to pay for a product. If the hypothetical WalMart you see is selling overpriced crap then they would go out of business or clean up their act when other retailers come to town.
That's what I have seen in my town. Walmart almost drove Kmart away. Target has forced Walmart to clean up their stores now.
