Soul Calibur, for me, is the greatest console fighter out there. As A PS2 owner, I'm glad that I will be able to play it. I'm sure Namco knows what it's doing.
I'm not suggesting this as a be all and end all solution, but the PS3 has been confirmed as being 100% backwards compatible, but the XBOX 360 only partially. I think even if the launch titles are weak (which I doubt) the fact that I can still boot up timesplitters ( a PS2 launch title that I enjoyed) or any of my other games will make it a better investment.
one word-rez. the reason that all games companies publish 'clones' is that they're proven genres. It's how you get money for your next game, which can be innovative and new. nintendo, however, keep much of the development in house, so the already have that money to develop.
Quantum computers do not run regular apps- which is why we need the algorithms. they also need a regular computer to be able to feed in the apps. you also need an NMR machine or something similar to actually see what's going on- which will make it decohere. and all this is assuming it doesn't decohere by itself- which so much as a passing photon can make it do. unless D Wave have managed to solve al of this and more, 3 years is awfully optimistic. try 15, and maybe they will be able to factor the number 20. and even then, it will still give 8, 12 and 16 as answers.
you can't put an operating system on a QC. no QCs as yet have a memory- you work out what you are putting through the computer, you enter it, you get a result, you checkit, you reset the computer. looks like GTA: Schrodinger is still a ways off
sorry, how many cubits to a furlong? and how many links a mile? where did they pull all of this from? the metric system has clearly defined origins and logical progression. lets see, ten fingers, ten toes... I'll make a number system based on completely random numbers. luddites...

a solar sail uses photons for propulsion, not the 'solar wind.' the energy comes from reflection. what will shred it is space dust
