I always find these sorts of commentaries interesting because language and spelling are fluid things. In languages like English, and more so French, spelling rules were set in stone centuries ago, OFFICIALLY, hence the difficulty many people have today.
Take languages like Spanish and German, these are true phonetic writing systems and I would guess that native kids of these languages have an easier time learning to read and write than most others.
Yeah that's great but any Linux variation still blows compared to Windows, outside of security. Chearp( read: free ) does NOT mean better, I don't care if it now runs some Windows games, probably very badly.

This is an outstanding course of action set by or Norwegian friends. This should increase competition, lower prices and raise quality. Win-win all-around.

The strength of a computer program has nothing do to with the operating system!?!? IT is about the algorithm used to implement the chess engine. If there is any advantage to an OS it would simply be that one is FA?STER than another and hence able to comple up with it's best movve within the requisite time limit.

This is precisely why I am getting out of programming after being a proffesional for 5 years, and getting into managing my OWN future and finances. The inept policies of the Bush administration in this regard are striking, if he had any vision at all he would have subsidized the the Internet Buble, much like Corn, before it bursted all together. Perhaps at least allow us enough team to reorganize ourselves in preperation for the beast that is India, and the growing beast of China. Alas now it seems to late.

It only matters if you are The European Union which was the impetus for this version in the first place.
Now with windows longhorn on the horizon this all seems to be much ado about nothing anyway.
Remember, the US is BIG. In the UK, you're as likely to get a call from France as someone in Texas is likely to get a call from Louisiana (though in both cases, the caller may parle francais). So the pricing model in the US expects primarily domestic calls.
It is somewhat rare in Lousiana for a person to natively speak French. If they do it is either cajun french, or creole french which they may have picked up from their grandmother or grandfather.
In either case, it would still be imporbably that a person speaking one of these dialects would call someone in texas speaking it.
Due to the government wanting to eradicate french culture in Lousiana from the Louisiana Purchase up until about the 1960s this is the current state of affairs. But things are imrpoving there are more immersion schools for kids, etc.
You may think a web browser is "silly", but a web browser is the fabled "killer-app", as much as email, and it will eventually become th eprimary means by which persons experience the rest of the world outside of their local principality.
If they wanted people to use the service, clearly Orlando was not the place. Sure you have a melting pot, of eltisit, "beautiful people", smart people, dumb people, and just plain losers there, but the fact is MOST people in Florida outsife of Miami, and perhaps Ft. Laud. and the deep south in general are not tech savvy, but most importantly, there Governor is Jeb Bush. Should we be surprised that any remotely progressive program in their state fails?
