I did mention that it was back in the day, And back then you had to order parts from apple or a apple store exclusively. There was no X86 processor, there was no interchangeability of parts. It was purely an apple machine. They have grown a lot, but they still reflect that same mindset when it comes to their software. They STILL choose which machines that you can run MACos on. I Still can't easily obtain a version of MACos anything on my pc. Yes? no? Am I lying? I think not. But the other way around is available.. I >could run windows on a Personal Computer capable of running MacOS. With really no hacking involved, thanks to boot camp. For me.. Apple is purely a trendy shiney to not own. I can't afford it, why should I purchase it when I have a pc with a legit xp install and a linux install? The Pro's simply do not out weigh the cons. At least not until Apple furthers their change of tunes. (no... not iTunes)

That's the problem with language. Once Apple sells the phone, it is no longer Apple's phone - it is the customer's.

Since WHEN has apple ever allowed people to own their own equipment? Apple has never been about freedom (as in beer, or choice apparently), it has been more like a mortgage company.. Leasing you the use of your home/equipment until such time as they see fit to no longer support it. It was a great frustration to me, when I use to service Apple computers (eons ago... Back before the last ice age..) to not be able to order a replacement part from a 3rd party source with ease. Apple, for as long as I can remember, has focused on proprietary rights.. THEIR rights. It's shown in past computers, it's shown in their software, and now it's showing in this. Quite frustrating and has kept me from even considering owning a Mac. How can I pay money to a company that has only recently started loosening their stranglehold on where their product can be used, and how? When allowing freedom of software choice because financially lucrative and trendy... THEN apple will endorse it. Not a moment before.

  4. Brandenburg v. Ohio on Teachers Fake Gunman Attack · · Score: 1

Wouldn't this whole thing fall under the Brandenburg v. Ohio ruling? The ruling that free speech, which I assume the teachers might claim this was an exercise of, could only be banned when it was directed to and likely to incite imminent lawless action (e.g. a riot)? Lord knows if these kids had been older they WOULD have rioted... It's like sitting in a theatre, waiting until the lights are out and the mood is right, and screaming FIRE! While fun, the chaos and carnage that follows is not. Also because of Brandenburv Vs Ohio, it's no longer legal.

Less homework for the kids, thus reducing expectations of any sort of achievements in their lives. While at the same note, relieving all that horrible horrible stress teachers go through correcting homework. Heaven forbid our kids be forced to achieve something in their young lives, or for that matter be challenged to think. How frustrating, up here in Washington we face similar thinking. When I was in high school, I had homework every night. It kept me on my toes, learning and thinking. (I didn't put it to good use... ) However, watching my nephew go to school now, it seems that homework is some sort of once a month item. He's getting about a C+ or B- average GPA and doesn't have a SPOT of homework. All in class assignments in high school, and very little after school activities. Schools seem to be adopting a slackers attitude in education, only requiring seniors to get involved with the community to graduate. I'm an advocate of bringing back homework, and getting high school students involved with the community starting at freshmen age. Maybe they wont be out destroying the community if they HAVE to help the community. That and the side benefit of getting them up off their collective @$$'s and out from behind a video game. Make 'em work, and stop freeloading off a community :D *cracks whip*

I would assume, (yes we all know what assuming does) .. that he meant mechanical expenses to the owner of the vehicle. There are some extra components that wear and tear along with the transmission.

Replacing clutch when it goes out, and if you're truly a lousy driver... replacing it many many times.

Replacement shifter kitts (Okay so highly unlikely as a cost)

I'm sure he/she meant other expenses as well. Though, I wouldn't be aware of those as I own a vehicle with an automatic transmission, which is expensive in it's own right. Services, replacements, gaskets, seals, Dark voodoo rituals to keep it working right... You know, those kind of things.

Having tried Transgaming's software and gui front end, and only getting 1 game out of the 15 I have to work. It definately isn't worth the $5.00 usd that they want you to pay per month to use their services. Hours of frustrated tweaking, redownloading, reinstalling, reeverything... and still end up with a useless gui that takes up much needed anime room. Save the dough until they actually put some effort into game support. Transgaming forums are full of help requests and zilch for feedback from transgaming. Mr M.
