I'm interested in learning how the respective cartridge vendors finds out who is refilling their cartridges (and who isn't). I know some of the google printer hacks on "Johnny's site" are good, but not that good
...And the PSP is lame (anyone interested, usually owns a PS2 and wouldn't pay for a second copy of software). The only thing a vPod would be useful for is to show my country relatives digital versions of the family albums (and Sony already do tiny laptops for that purpose).
The cc collective has introduced me to some of the more interesting content on the web. Generally the image archives referenced are excellent, and even MIT have released commons-licensed course notes.
Dvorak must be trying to find some new ground; everyone's done blogs, podcasting and rss/atom to death
I find Opera a more versatile browser (even with the ads--although there are ways around that ^_^). I am still not happy with the way in which either browser prints however...
Anyone who's been using rssreaders will already be aware of this. The guys behind the excellent Rssowl disabled 'execution of active content' quite some time ago. So if you executed some unknown quantity whilst reading Dilbert, it was your own fault (for not vetting the source of the feed in the 1st place).
The average PC is already filled to the gills with xml configuration files. As long as the developers and eventually the users don't do something silly...Doh!!!
I presume the info was a byproduct of a useful study (Cog-Neuro-Psy possibly?). I really hate it when the media picks out the And finally bit of science news stories (a la bread-landing-on-the-buttered-side, etc).
Hmmmm,
If I'm doing a job that requires a Sun box, it's usually one that requires a large pot of good coffee, a very large LCD screen and a very comfy chair...
...Oh and a beast of a Sun box stationed somewhere in the vicinity. I can't see myself doing the same task on a busy Virgin cross-country train (doh!)
I think in love with Apple is a bit of a overstatement.
The 'horn-blowing' of some slashdot audience is a result of using something that does what it says on the tin. Which is rare in IT; usually the customer/user ends up helping the vendor with the R&D of the given product (whilst being charged for it!).
I hate to admit it but M$ and Linux on the Desktop could learn a hell of a lot from Apple (as long as they don't sacrifice the substance for style, like they did with XP {and by the sound of it, Longhorn}).
Desktop Search may be just a fad, unless you're a photographer/journalist with hundreds of Gigabytes of photos/article.
Knowing M$, they're probably find some way to make the app as security risk...
(duck!)
Here, here! Apart from the GTA series, we have not moved on from Zelda/Mario 64. I'm sick of seeing impressive cut scenes in promo material, etc., etc. I thought it was me getting old until I heard the same complaints from the younger generations. If Nintendo's download ideas is cheap and reasonable, it could kick-start the iTunes of the gaming world. I'd rather play Super Mario 3 than Jak V...
