Could you please give me one example of something they offer which doesn't have a superior alternative?
Can't be Windows, as there's no shortage of alternatives there; countless Linux distros, the various BSDs, and OS X, among others. Can't be Internet Explorer, as there's plenty of alternatives there too, such as Firefox and Opera. Can't be Office, as there's OpenOffice.org, and several others. Can't be Hotmail, as there's Gmail, Yahoo (though that isn't much better), and some other smaller but still far better email services. Can't be search, as there's Google.
So do you have an example of something (useful) they still provide which has no alternatives? Or do you just unconditionally mod down people who criticize Microsoft?
Yes, and I'm sure that when little suzy is buying her powerpuff girls DVDs online with all that money she has, she'll see the civil rights DVDs and think 'Oh hey, I think I'll buy some of those too!'. As hard as you may try, *The Powerpuff Girls* simply doesn't make sense in this context.
But I don't think you can explain how "The Powerpuff Girls" has anything to do with "real life civil rights issues".
(And I think this PC shit is stupid too.)
Did you bother to even check the links? Seriously, *flamebait*? Anyways, I took a couple of screen shots to make this easier for you. This is the version originally linked to. This is the 'printer friendly' version he linked to. If you're noticing a certain similarity right about now, that's because they're the exact same fucking page.
Did you bother to RTFA, or even read the entire summary? This only applies to pages which are frequent targets of vandalism, and only prevents anonymous and very new users from editing them; from the SPP page:
The barrier should be low enough that editors who wish to contribute constructively need only wait a short time (on en.wikipedia, the newest 1% of accounts last about 4 days) to be fully active.
While I'm sure there'll be plenty of idiots screaming about how Wikipedia is becoming less 'Free', if anything it's becoming less restricted; up until now, the only possible course of action has been 'full protection', in which case only *admins* can edit the article.
But these people need to stop fucking acting like it's just the *women* in games. Yes, you won't often see a flat-chested female in a game, but you probably won't see a male character with anything less than a near perfect, lean, muscular body. So either start complaining about the men in games too, or (preferably) just shut the fuck up.
Shortcuts are just ordinary files that, when opened, open the location it points to. A symlink, however, allows you transparently access it as though it were the actual file/folder; "C:\Shortcut to porn\hot lesbian action.jpg" won't work, whereas "C:\Symlink to porn\hot lesbian action.jpg" will. See the Wikipedia entry, for more info.

Unlike Microsoft, they still offer useful services.

It's the exact same fucking link, except this time it points to the top of the page. It's no more 'printer friendly' than the other one.

It's nice to see I'm not the only one who got a good laugh out of seeing * * Beatles-Beatles post a story about search engine optimization.
Last I heard, it didn't give you the strength to carry enough weapons for a small army, either.
My point is that games are fantasy, not real life, and they should stop expecting it to be.

I'm pretty sure a company that doesn't make money is like a species that doesnt reproduce... dead.
;)
Obviously not, as Slashdot is still going strong.
I think you mean the summary. Anyone who read more than a few words into it would've realized they're talking about a person.
It could be worse.
Not on Windows.

You know, I hate Microsoft just as much as (if not more than!) you, but until you donate anywhere near that amount, shut the fuck up.
No, the PDF clearly explains why that's a Bad Idea:
Due to the special properties of ROT13, the number of rounds must be even, otherwise the algorithm provides only as much security as simple ROT13.
Real Life
Geez, you should at least use something secure, like 2ROT13.
Who's coming with me?
Way ahead of you. I'm already up there. >_>
What kind of perversion is this?
The best kind.
Okay, but the idiot who modded it Informative still needs to be stabbed.
And stab the idiot who modded him up. That's a picture of the Nano after being repeatedly dropped out of a car, and I doubt he wrote that article.

--?! How the fuck is that useful?!
What the fuck?!
Someone duped an article by Zonk? Isn't it supposed to be the other way around?
