"A game which has stereoscopy"? I don't understand -- could somebody explain? Doom was made to be viewed in 3D monitors?
Yes. Or more specificaly 3d glasses. Also Quake1, duke3d(very buggy), Decent1&2, and quite a few others. Also there exist 3daccelerator cards that support 3d glasses as well. Wicked3d is a very cool example.
Thesaurus or no, it's in the dictionary : "3: the unauthorized use of another's production, invention, or conception especially in infringement of a copyright "
I think the word has been used in this context with this meaning for a long while. You can't deny the meaning of the word because you don't like the other definitions.
On a related note, I'd like to protest the use of the word "computer" to denote a IC based electronic calculating device. Unless you think your Pentium is some how the equivilant of a trained mathematition adding large collumns of numbers.
"In the fall of 1989, the Walt Disney Company entered into negotiations to acquire The Jim Henson Company (then Jim Henson Productions) and the Muppets. Jim Henson died during the negotiations, and the deal eventually fell through. However, the JHC and Disney have sometimes worked together, such as for the (wonderful) MuppetVision 3-D at Disney/MGM studios in Orlando."
BTW, does anyone know what happened to Muppets.com?

You may produce and distribute in executable form only or in a package containing source and binaries or as source alone
It still says "Executable form only" but it's not restricting you to executable form only. Just because it says you may distribute it in one form, it doesn't realy say that you can't distribute it in the other two.
I'm sure this is a troll, but what the heck. from M-W.com :

I hope that Peter Molyneux isn't reading this discussion. He'll think we're all ungrateful bastards. It's absolutely amazing. This person is trying to give us a gift. He wants to give us, for free, what other companies charge millions for, The source to the game. And we have the audacity to cry out that he should be giving us more? What makes you think he should give us this much?
Whether code "wants" to be free or not doesn't actually matter at the moment. What matters is that in the here and now it's not free and it represents a major asset to the companies that possesses it. To suggest that they have some sort of obligation to give this to us is crazy.
Why? Energy is plentiful in this universe. If we exhaust our current energy supplies there are others that could take their place with a bit of effort.(We could use a few problems like this anyway.)
There are plenty of other environmentalist concerns you could be worrying about. Why worry about something as trivial as how much energy is used? You should be more concerned about the way the energy is produced, regardless of who uses it for what.
Yea, then he changed his mind and decided the thing to do would be to turn tail and run, while blowing up his own ship.
Somehow setting SlashDot's self distruct sequence then moving everyone over to hotgrits.org isn't the greatest solution they could come up with.

I'll moderate any way I like. That's the point. Most of signal11's posts are on-topic, but a good number of them are redundant. You can't have a working moderation system that makes the moderators scared to moderate one way or the other. If something bad does happen my karma I'll get rid of this account and start anouther. Karma is only a secondary effect of moderation. The main one is to cleen up the discusion boards and highlight good posts so I'm not going to cry if my Karma goes down a bit.
Well, downloading an MP3 that you've made publicly available with Napster is slightly diferent then breaking into your house and stealing your CD, copying it, and breaking in again to return it.
But someone still has to organise and bring it all together right? Or else where will Programmer C find Programer B's Software? Does programer B have to distribute it himself? More likely Programer C will find Programer A's web site and work from there, If Programmer A hasn't had the time to add Programer B's source to his own Programer C is only going to see Programer A's code and have to recreate Programer B's 40%Scratch patch in addition to his own 10%Scratch code.
Right? Or have I missed something important?

Just be sure you know where the water pipes are before you start drilling.
Don't ask me why I mention this; I don't want to talk about it.

You know I think A. Coward was making a joke. His post was a humorous way of saying "That's a lot of paper to be wasting".
Some people need new senses of humor.
