Obviously if you pay full price for the phone, that should be the case.
But as much as I despise most phone carriers, it's a little unfair for criticizing them for wanting to recoup the money they spent subsidizing your phone.
Which way you go is a choice, but do you honestly expect them to subsidize the phone without anything in return?
Also, I've had a few times in the past where I was relocating/traveling internationally. I called AT&T and they unlocked the phone... granted haven't tried with my iPhone.
I use it primarily for tethering, which is important to me. Also to use Skype on 3G, but not often.
I've added some of the themes and UI tweaks, app monitors etc, but only since I figured that if I was going to deal with jailbreaking the phone, I may as well get the most out of it. I could drop those in a second.
However, you're correct, there are often more hassles than advantages to jailbreaking, especially with the current v of iOS.
It used to be more useful, but now unless there's a dealbreaker for you (tethering and Wifi->3G in my case) than I honestly wouldn't recommend it.
Remember, Google also employs lawyers, accountants and any number of non-dev staff.
I would bet that most IE testing is done in the VM world, but not every Google employee works in tech - a lot of them probably just want Quickbooks and Exchange/Outlook to work. Maybe that was a hole in the armour and lead to an attack vector.
It's another issue that these people would have access to raw Google data. That's no good. But I doubt there's any significant number of the people one typically thinks of as a Google employee that uses IE.
Don't they mostly run linux on desktop(using VM for testing)? (not positive about that one)
Agreed.
Quite apropos to the upcoming indictment in NY (almost every media reference to the case centers around the fact that the man who died was to be "married to the mother of his children" on the following day).
Since when did emotion play such a large role in determining culpability?*
*aside from certain cases of 'hot' murder/manslaughter (mens rea).
Granted, I agree with you that the RAZR interface is no good. However, if you download one of the (unofficial) firmware updates, you can add this feature along with some other functionality.
I think it's http://www.motox.us/
Um, NPR is broadcast on Sirius.
However, in all fairness I doubt Sirius broadcasts any sort of fundraising.
At the same time, I would imagine NPR/Sirius came to some sort of monetary agreement.
I really have to think this has more to do with XM infringing on the lower FM frequencies that are commonly used by NPR.
>and a lobster.
I'm pretty sure that anyone who has ever cooked lobster has killed it. They are sold alive.
OK, if you have such a vision and care that much, MAKE IT.
If you use the phrase "If you're fiscal view are the same as the Tea Party", then you are also probably a dumb ass.
Good point. I've been able to do so, but again, not tried with an iPhone. It's possible they could be more controlling for iPhones.

I have a public transit option here in Pittsburgh, but I've never seen a cost comparison. Just checked and doesn't appear that it's there.
