  1. Re:Credit card works in plastic bag on Computer Voodoo? · · Score: 1

I have also seen this at our local grocery store. Whenever someone's credit card won't read at our Meijer's, the cashier has then put a plastic bag over it and, usually, it reads like new.

  2. Step it Up! on Music Industry Threatens to Pull Plug on Apple · · Score: 4, Interesting

The music industry better step it up! If they want to stay afloat, they should allow the 99 for all policy to stay! What is better, getting a little under a dollar per song ($10 for an album), or having everyone just pirate and take it all for free? Actually, if they played their cards right, it would be more profitable to lower the price. I would buy a lot more music if it were less than a dollar. In fact, anything 75 or lower, if I heard it, and didn't think it was terrible, I'd buy it. It's time they started realizing that they work for us. We pay them for entertainment. Well, you know what? Screw them. I can live without legal music. I can live with what I've got, or just acquire music from others. By the way, I do not in any way condone or approve of stealing music. Remember that every time you download a song, God (or Buddha, or whatever) kills a kitten!

  3. Re:One fan sorry to see them go on Rio Brand Closes Doors · · Score: 1

Rio's flagship product (in my mind) was better than the iPod mini, and also had a voice recorder to boot. The Rio Carbon Pearl was a player I was looking forward to purchasing in the future once I had saved a little money to spend. My MP3 player now is a Rio Cali (discontinued, replaced by the Forge), a small 128 flash player, but thankfully, was SD expandable. I like to have good gadgets that are different from the trend, and would've taken a 5 GB Carbon anyday. At $200 (now they're cheaper), it had 25% more space than a 4 GB iPod Mini for the same price. It's a shame. Although I saw many tales of disfunctional products on Amazon, I never really had any bad problems. But I will admit that recently, my player has been a pain in the behind when trying to transfer music, and half the time I end up reformatting so I can change the playlist and add a new song. The market is being defined now by single coporations that own an overpowering majority of the market share, in this case, Apple's iPod. In the OS world, it's Microsoft with their Office Suite, and OS that run most home and business computers.

  4. Re:Uhoh on Microsoft Frowned at for Smiley Patent · · Score: 1

How could anyone make a huge amount of profit from smilies? I mean, come on, Microsoft is a multi-billion dollar a year corporation and they're worried about someone stealing their smiley faces. They'll barge into our 1st grade classrooms: "Timmy, you drew that smiley and gave it to Joe for a gumdrop. You sold a registered trademark of the Microsoft corporation. We'll see you in court, scumbag!" :)*
*:) is a registered trademark of the Microsoft Corporation, unauthorized reproduction will result in a major lawsuit.

  5. Re:Groundless Bullshit on Thompson Goes After Sims 2 Nudity · · Score: 1

You couldn't be more right. GTA was a little overboard. I have seen sims without censoring before, and let me tell you, it's nothing special. They are just like barbies. There is nothing wrong with this game. I am sick of all these crackheads going after all these games. Maybe they should fix the sims because they can wear shorts and T-Shirts. That is profane and inappropriate! Skin is a nasty and shouldn't be seen by children. (that was sarcastic). That's what you see with the sims. Skin. Nothing else. I'm having a hard time describing my hate towards these SOBs. I don't understand. Plus, in the sims, you don't have hookers, or kill them. So how is this worse than GTA? I just don't get it. If someone would like to explain to me why the Sims needs an AO rating, feel free to do so.

  6. Re:Just because he went to Google on Google and Microsoft Lob More Lawsuits · · Score: 1

There is absolutely no way MS would care if this guy went to any other company, but he went to Google. MS would really like a monopoly where they control all OS, Software, and internet tools all across the world. Unfortunately for them, we aren't communists and we believe in free enterprise.
