Real science would look at the predictions that follow the hypothesis and see if they can be observed. Current observations seem to be in line with the hypothesis as postulated above.
I'd almost suspect they just bought Sun to use the cited patents in court. The patents are so broad and ill defined that if they uphold there are not many processes that do not violate them. (Heck -- my coffee-maker probably violates them!)

Does McAfee offer other products of significant value
They have encryption software -- making those less CPU intensive (especially for cell phone and other mobile use) might actually be moderately useful.
I am sure BP has a very save solution for the extraction of 'fuel' in space.
