My guess is that comment makes reference to the fact that Johann Sebastian Bach died in 1750

  3. Re:Doesn't look malicious to me on G-Archiver Harvesting Google Mail Passwords · · Score: 1

This isn't a clear case of "oh crap, I'm an idiot". It looks malicious to me.

If you look at the screen shot, the second column where gmail displays the sender says "me". This is what happens when you send an email from your gmail account to your gmail account.

The reason he left his username and password in the application is because after a person used his utility, it would then login to gmail with his account and send himself an email with the user's credentials. Had he sent the email from the users account to him, a copy of the message would appear in their "Sent" folder, alerting the person to the fact that their account was compromised.

  4. Its a Journal Entry on Halo 3 Causing Network Issues · · Score: 5, Insightful

Journal written by fender177 (1125877) and posted by kdawson on Sunday September 30, @03:17PM

I don't think this article was submitted as a story by the author. It looks like fender117 just posted a little story in his slashdot story, and kdawson stumbled upon it and decided to post it to the front page for some stupid reason.

  5. Re:Network failures, shark jumping on Futurama to be Resurrected? · · Score: 1

I'd love to a LITERAL shark-jumping moment (maybe Buster, in a leather jacket, loses a foot?) in the second to last episode, with Henry Winkler there to save the day (and get hired back as the family attorney).)

There was a literal jump the shark moment in the Burger King episode when they are down at the docks. Henry Winkler goes, I am going to get breakfast at Burger King and he jumps over a dead shark to exit the scene

  7. Delicious on The Rise of Digg.com · · Score: 1

There are alot of things I hate about slashdot that I don't seem to think will ever change and might even lead to its downfall, but I tried to get into digg and to me, it is basically del.icio.us with comments. If you look at the front page right now, one of the stories is "Manipulating XML at the command line with xmlstarlet" which is such a nice article that the few people who are intrested it that would find it through other means. On top of that, the discussion that is going to surround the article will be rather boring

I think a system where a bunch of people submit articles, they get voted on and the highest ones go through an editor who then cleans them up and whatnot would kill both slashdot and digg.

  9. Conspiracy Theory on iPod nano, iTunes 5, iTunes Phone · · Score: 2, Interesting

If you look at what song is playing in iTunes, you'll see it is from the new Kanye West CD.

I wonder if Apple picked a song from that Artist based on the recent comments he made during the Hurrican Relief Fund?

Could just be that he has a new CD out, or the person making the page was listening to the CD at the time, but I love a good conspiracy theory
