OopenSUSE does an excellent job of supporting KDE. Been using both for 10+ years.
I'd much rather let the OpenSUSE folks sort out what's really ready for prime-time than burn up my own time fighting to stay on top top of the latest and greatest.
(Yes, I had nerdgasms the first time I got the spinning cube desktop switcher working. After about 15 minutes, I realised that this might be fun, but I still had work to do.)
You apparently did not bother to read the blog to which you linked:
It should be noted that this plan still allows for usage of the “http” URI scheme in legacy content. With HSTS and the upgrade-insecure-requests CSP attribute, the “http” scheme can be automatically translated to “https” by the browser, and thus run securely.
Oh, I'm sorry--be sure to hide your user agent, or they'll try to make you download some damned Firefox add-on first, for verifying the download. Fortunately, there's a torrent.
Take a look at some of the histories/journals of users who've been harrassed by him, e.g. me, Coren22, BarbaraHudson. I'll try to come back later when I'm not half-asleep and dig up/post some links. Cheers.
I just had one built for me last year. Serial port.
Dunno why, but I googled.
I'm sorry for your loss, and I hope people still think of me ten+ years after I'm gone.
Desktops are no longer cost efficient now that laptops are so cheap.
Only if your work doesn't stress the laptop to any significant degree.
A laptop is *not* a good fit for software builds lasting 45 minutes to an hour at a go. Trust me.
+1, Why do we need to reinvent the wheel (and badly)?
What's wrong with KDE being an option in OpenSUSE?
Absolutely nothing. Works great, been using that combo for years.

The torrent took me exactly 1 minute and one second to download.

It is the same. They just push an apparently new and eye-crossingly "simplified" solution out in front of it.
Just show us where to grab the ISO so we can burn the damned thing to a DVD or USB already, geez.
Given Slashdot's support for Unicode, how will they post anything?

I'm cautiously optimistic--seems like you guys recognise that you've got something a little different/special/original here. Good luck!
(Don't forget to have them issue you your staff /. icon, BTW.)
...what do these thirty people actually DO?
Isn't it obvious?
One for the nouns, one for the verbs, one for the adjectives,...
Some us even live in those places and eat smörgåsbord from time to time.
As for me, I just want to be able to use Hanzi in my sig.
+1, Awesome.
I've offered my services before. They know how to get in touch.

(Blah blah blahblahblah yadda yadda blah blah added to blah blah the blahblah lameness filter, no blahblah less!)
And this would keep the court from ruling on *the validity of the patent* exactly how?
"Minero Digital awoke a sleeping giant" is completely correct.
If you're implying that the verb "awake" can't be used transitively, you're wrong. But don't take my word for it--check the dictionary for yourself.
Sounds good, but could you work some "lamentations of their women" into it somewhere?
As of 10 months ago, they're still doing it.
The "anonymous" submitter is very likely StartsWithABang. May I suggest "bangspam" for your tagging needs.
I remember 2 things about the 100MB Zip-Disk:
1. It was big for the time.
2. It sucked ass. The drives were slow, and neither the disks nor the drives were very reliable.
Do you even know what "Engrish" actually refers to? Derp.
