Of course, WinAmp can be used to convert pretty much all audio into MP3 format, so, bye-bye DRM.
All you have to do is install Winamp, LAME and MP3 Output Plugin. Then just play the audio file in WinAmp, with the plugin selected as the output thingy.
I used to be a self-proclaimed hacker. Key word being 'used'.
I can't remember when it started, but the word 'hacker' has changed its meaning. It used to mean someone who 'thinks outsid eof the box' - solves problems in a new way. It used to mean someone who would improve things by writing their own code/making their own hardware. Crackers used to be people who would 'crack' security codes etc. to illegally gain access to a computer.
Somehow 'hacker' is now a synonym for cracker. I propose 'hacker' is rostored to its former glory and a new word is instated to mean cracker; 'h4x0r' or 'script kiddy (or 'skiddy' for short)'.
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone, and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
Hey, I'm gonna get you too
Another one bites the dust
How do you think I'm going to get along,
Without you, when you're gone
I don't know what's sadder, the fact that iPods are winning or the fact that someone asked me the other day, "What's the difference between an iPod and a MP3 player?"
During the cold war NASA spent millions of dollars inventing a pen that could write in space (because the lack of gravity stops the ink from flowing out the end, as it should).
The soviets used a pencil.
On a related matter, ever heard of Keep It Simple, Stupid?
Now I could be wrong, but this seems alot like a conspiracy theory.
Yes, that must be it. Make us work longer, make us not notice global warning, lighter days and such...
Or something...
Well, maybe not. But it certainly won't make people work longer hours; I think someone else has already said it, but I agree with them - people these days are prepared to work any hours. If people want to work extra hours, they will.
I admit I've pulled a few all-nighters, trying to get that last piece of C++ to compile bug-free for tomorrow's deadline. Ah, these are the best days of my life.
And it is easier. But what you have to remember is few people actually own Windows on a CD; I don't know how it works in the US but in the UK what tends to happen is when Joe Everyman buys his prebuilt desktop PC it comes with Windows already installed. therefore if his/she wanted to reformat, they wouldn't have an OS to install.
But I digress. Windows is easier to install; I built my sister's PC for her, she was eleven, and at the time she managed to install Windows XP Pro by herself onto an unformatted, unpartitioned hard drive. And she's not even very intelligent.
If webdevelopers have to cater for IE, FF, Moz, Opera, etc. users, detectives should have to, too.

It would certainly make things simpler.
I was waiting for a punchline.
Get back to me when it can fly.
A head that can ecolocate is nothing - we've been using sonar and radar for years.
"In soviet Russia, car drive you.
Yeah, I actually knew that was an urban legend, but it's still quity funny, IMO.
