No need to send a binary to him. You should be able to see the IP address in the mail headers.
Get one of your friends who reads their mail on a reader where you can view the complete mail headers take a peek at the IP address (people tell me you can't do that on some popilar mail readers - puzzles me...)
The Axis 2120 is a fantastic camera. It just plugs into your hub. You can access it remotely because it has an on-board web server. You can set up motion detection so that it will email or ftp shots to you.
The java applet it uses for administration caused gried for the default Netscape jvm. I reconfigured Netscape to use the sun JVM as a plugin. It worked fine in the Mozilla jvm.
I received the following message from Informix. Personally I like Informix. I started using it due to customer requirements and took it on as a preferred DB before Postgres sped up. I was sceptical of commercial
databases. But having used Informix on a few projects I quite like it and have found it fast and stable, easy to install and it doesn't take THAT much out of a machine,
"Dear Valued Customer:
Informix and IBM recently announced an agreement for IBM to acquire the
Informix database business. IBM has a decades-long history of delivering
mission critical database solutions, starting on mainframes and growing
explosively in recent years on distributed Unix and Windows/NT platforms.
As you know, Informix is a leading provider of distributed database
management systems for business intelligence and transaction processing.
With the Informix acquisition, IBM strengthens its position in distributed
database increasing its ability to attract an even larger community of
application and services providers. Additionally, IBM and Informix share
common values of excellence in technology, outstanding customer support,
great business value and a focus on customer satisfaction.
We anticipate that the Informix acquisition will close in the third
quarter. Once the acquisition is complete, IBM will strive to maintain the
relationships and support that you value today. Our goal is to minimize
change to these sales, support and services relationships in the future,
and we expect that most of the Informix individuals you work with today
will continue to support you.
We know you have mission critical applications deployed on Informix
products and IBM will continue to execute Informix's strategy to support
and enhance existing Informix products for the foreseeable future. Over the
long term, IBM intends to integrate key Informix technologies into future
versions of DB2.
Database is a key growth area and IBM continues to make significant
investments in technology, sales, and customer support. With this
acquisition, IBM is investing an incremental $1B to ensure your future,
broader support by applications and services providers, and IBM's
commitment to your ongoing satisfaction.
Informix and IBM appreciate your investment in Informix solutions but we do
not take it for granted. The new IBM and Informix team will work hard to
earn your continued business, and looks forward to working with you to
leverage information in the 21st century.

Telstra in Australia went on a burst of installing new pay phones. Martin Place in the Sydney CBD was dug up prior to the Olympics and several new style "booths" installed.
The advertising on the outside went up months before the phones went in. They are obviously being used as billboards.
There is one of these booths near me on a major, noisy intersection. Just an advertising board facing the traffic with an unusable phone stuck on the back.
Shame they're installing payphones instead of DSL...
The use of the term mails is something that bugs me. The postman delivers mail not mails. You go through your mail not your mails.
Also you can send me a message, a letter (via snail mail) an email message... but a mail? Someone might get their hopes up or offended if you try to send them a male!
I would also recommened that you adjust the parameter for the maximal mount count on each of the partitions so that they are staggered. That is, so that the maximal mount count is not reached at the same time on all of the large partitions. (I think it's tune2fs)
When you create your partitions you might also want to adjust the number of possible inodes.
I've never seen a document that size handled properly by Word. It is probably cheaper to buy a PC and a package like Framemaker or Applixware and hand the whole kit to the customer than to spend the hours of aggravation battling Word. Then they can edit the document.
Possible reasons: 1. Make it appear that they admit other OSs exist at a time where their "monopoly" abuse is hopefully taking them directly past go and to jail 2. Try to get more Microsoft Tax 3. Provide a custom version which will do a DR-DOS type detection and spew out error messages I always thought Rev Billy G played in ZZ Top...
Another problem is that you can't even align the printer cartridges for the Deskjet 850C (and other 2 cartridge) printers without physically connecting the printer to a windows box. I have tried to go through the forum on HP's website to find a contact to get the information. Someone from HP eventually told me to contact the local office in Australia. That's just a waste of time. So I've borrowed a dot matrix printer to try to get a dump of the sequences to send to the printer - when I get some spare time.... Probably easier to get another brand of printer...
That's right! Only 2 calls me and the person who does our books:-) Sent email to the address on the Australian address Info@Quicken.com.au a couple of times each. Her's got answered. My last one fell into a blackhole. I just rang the US 1800 number posted here. They went off to talk to someone before palming me off to their Australian outpost.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald it was a blitz across 6 countries.
Quicktime on Linux is not a problem with the CodeWeavers plug-in Crossover plugin (http://www.codeweavers.com). Some will baulk at the 20 bucks.
I don't think anyone can save this whale. I wonder if anyone will have a video camera handy ;-)

How does it do all this? It runs Linux!

You need the secret 11 herbs and spices for the kernel package.
and not an email either!
That usage is spot on!

I'll stick with my Happy Hacker keyboard. When was the last time you used Caps Lock or the num pad or page/ up page down/home/ end etc

How are upgrades handled in Slackware these days? I used Slackware way back around kernel 1.0. Upgrades were tough.
I think RedHat basically grabbed their foothold with the RPMs and easy of upgrading.

I guess the Linux OS is a little easier to obtain than the old IBM OS ;-)
