  1. Re:trail of tears on Google to Blur Sensitive India Sites · · Score: 1

Obviously you didn't read the article: " Images of these locations will not be of more than 25-50 metre resolution, more like the older generation pictures provided by Indian Remote Sensing satellites. Official sources said Google Earth would distort building plans by adding structures where none existed or masking certain aspects of a facility. This could be done without attracting attention to such establishments, which range from laboratories, mines, military sites, space and atomic centres and residences of high-profile VVIPs. " On a side note, everyone knows where the politicians live, that's not hard to figure out in the capital, but their concern is the layout of the places, these politicians have pretty big houses provided to them.

  2. Re:this sucks on Disney Buys Pixar · · Score: 1

They didn't need to buy Pixar to do this, they already own the rights to all the characters portrayed in all the Pixar movies including the upcoming "Cars". They already have a Buzz Lightyear cartoon series for the Disney Channel, as well as having Toy Story 3 in the works. The toys and clothing in the Disney store include characters from all the Pixar movies as well... And they're increasing the number of rides/entertainment related to the Pixar movies as well at Disney theme parks. Their short term profit is in fact, long term as they've been doing this for a while.

Don't forget that this is just the "First generation" of the xbox 360. Later models will feature the HD-DVD, and mayhaps some games will be made on that format, never know. I'm just going to wait till the guy next door buys and I invite myself over.

And one Google employee bought some fish and put them in an aquarium. Rumour has it that Google is going to have a BableFish (literally) online very soon, so that humans can converse in fish language. Or are they creating a new breed?

We expect transparency and accountability from a company that keeps saying "Do no evil" as well. Being a company, they get money from surfers, and on the world wide web, the rules are different.

You missed the point. Google are the ones who can't handle their own software. A long-overdue article was used using the Google engine. It's like saying, hey guess what, Microsoft xyz software has a bug, and they haven't fixed it... shame on them... and the whole public applauds on such a find and telling Microsoft how it is. Now Google was always made aware about personal data being shown as public, from credit cards, to people's phone numbers, and CNet, after many years, pointed it out in a blunt fashion. So as a result, Google, in a mode of complete lack of control, refuses to talk to News.com/CNet. It's that "we don't care about anyone else - we're always right" perception that is taking over the "do no evil" attitude, applaud it all you like, but if you are, you can do the same for all their competitors, cause they no different.

Seriously, they have a lot more stuff which has been released before Google, and more updates can be found at their official blog http://www.ysearchblog.com/ which is much better than Google's official blog.
