  2. Re:Protect the Airports? on Northrop to Sell Laser Shield Bubble for Airports · · Score: 5, Informative

The main reason behind deploying the shields at airports is, to prevent terrorists from using hand-held rocket launchers. These rocket launchers can be used to destroy planes that are at a low altitude. Low altitude planes are easily sighted around airports when they are about to land or take-off. Hence domestic airports are a big market for these systems.

  3. Keyboard Manufacturers are different from laptop m on Lenovo & Customer Perception · · Score: 1

Keyboard Manufacturers are different from laptop manufacturers. IBM sourced its keboards from 3 companies NMB, Chicony and Alps. Lenovo still does the same. So the keyboards are basically the same in the old and new thinkpads. (I know I had two). The thing is that amongst the suppliers NMB> Alps> Chicony So tell your friend to order a NMB keyboard and he should be fine

  4. Indian Company Structure Primer on The World's Most Modern Management System · · Score: 1

Indian companies are setup differently than american ones. Hence your suggested analogy is slightly incorrect. India's biggest problem is inertia. Large size equals = Large inertia. Anything from fixing the copier to replacing the broken phone or putting in new blinds, takes forever. Although these are minor things these, they take a heavy toll on employee productivity. Due to the large workforce(a natural by product of a large population) the whole infrastructure development is slowed down to a crawl in Indian companies. So when HCL decides to employ a system to address such issues and as a whole increase agility, I say it is good thing. A suggestion box it might be but it represents something bigger.

  6. The point of rockbox on Improve Your iPod with Rockbox · · Score: 1

I have had a iriver IHP 120 running Rockbox for ages. The only reason I switched is because of "Super Crippled" frimware on a super duper hardware. What Rockbox actually provides is a way to change evrything on the player. From scrolling speed to WPS(What is Playing Screen) to playlists to an actual equalizer to better battery life to changing what time the backlight stays on to better everything. I dont even boot the original firmware anymore. So to conclude, if you find the need to tweak, adjust everything in the player to your preference then please switch over, otherwise you are just fine.
