I'm very interested of how all those chinese people will integrate into US/Europe economy and business. Say, they have very different mentality, it's the fact...
They have TerraServer for a long time already, but it was always business-oriented. Now they slowly understand that common public can be took away from them by somebody else, who offer the same service for free (actually not for free, but this is another topic to discuss). So they just added Javascript and made it working for free.
Anybody knows if Microsoft is planning to make Windows client for their VirtualEarth, just like Google Earth is? Isn't that a good idea?:) I suppose it will be bundled into their 2010+ version of Windows...
Yep, VirtualEarth has better image quality for USA right now. Although I'm waiting until both companies will add other countries as well - especially UK and Israel. UK is already viewable thru Google Maps, but not all areas (I think London only in HiRes).
Good thing is, in maximum 1 year we will have all the world mapped and served:)
Even if I wanted to switch to Mac's laptops, I will never do it until they make it with full keyboard, like I have now on my HP ZD8000 - I mean with normal numpad. I can't live with it...
The curious point is, that there are only few 17" laptop models with normal numpad, although size of the laptop allows it easily. I think designers just don't want to work too much and simply copy&paste keyboard layout from 15" models:)
I'm curious if they someday decide to do this with all their other products... Right now I don't see any thorough cd-key checks when updating anything else from Microsoft (even Office).
I'm curious what will happen when you use service like this: http://myprogs.net/
The point is, people should list there ALL of their programs for the site to work efficiently for those people later, but who will be bold enough to add there all his 'warez' software? (and we know people do use warez a lot:))
Who uses KDB??
Ouch. I wanted to post this under iTunes is a monopoly comment.
There are a lot of other programs, if you don't like iTunes...
I don't think there will be many winners and losers. There will be lots of new opportunities, that is.
