There was an excellent TED Lecture on the topic of geoengineering, given by David Keith. It's a little over 15 minutes but well worth the time, and it skips all the sci-fi platitudes.
I'm sorry to say it, but the Reform merger ruined the tories.
"Unite the Right" really amounted to a bunch of secular, principled conservatives compromising to quasi-fundamentalist American style conservative values. It got them elected, but at what cost?
If each of those representatives has a block of the population behind them who elected them for the purpose of pushing those very issues, I don't see the problem.
It's not like those special-interest reps will get to make policy without having to win over the rest of them, right?
In legal context, it probably means "Any technology which you can successfully confuse a jury by explaining."
In other news, the Church-Turing thesis has been declared false by judicial fiat. Any algorithms which are discovered to be functionally identical to any others are to be rounded up and shot in order to protect freedom.
Maybe a 'pre-moderation' queue, like meta-moderation.
If you've been a good little Slashdotter, every now and then it'll present you a list of 5 or 10 AC posts to accept or reject.
I don't like this idea though, because I don't like the idea of outright blocking of trolls. Downmodding and selective reading, yes. But I think the censorship should be performed at the reading end of the transaction, not the writing end.
In the coming economic hardships, no one will be willing to troll for free anymore!
Who cares?

GP is probably thinking of the SSL initialization exploit, which did affect Etch if I recall.
Did you just undo your own modding?
Good, strong file-bearing hips!
You catch on.
Somebody please mod parent insightful. This is a dynamic I'd genuinely never considered before.

I wouldn't confuse the Greens with leftists. Their platforms are pretty staunchly right of center, at least fiscally.
Mod parent up. The critical point here is that the people who can cross international borders for medical care are rich.
If you're complaining based on wait times, it's only fair to ask how long in the USA the uninsured have to wait for care.
Jeez. If Fox News is to the left of you, then where the hell are you standing?

Clippy:
Yeah. If the farm (or some other) wasn't there producing O2, then wild plants would instead.
Don't you mean upgrade?
...Which I'll have to spend airtime listening to.

...Assuming that you already know you don't want the call.
I usually don't find that out until after I pick up.
I'll be glad to take your lawsuits, guys! Once we get the new Litigation Surcharge out of the way.
That'll be 99 cents per dollar that you're seeking in damages, plz.
You seem to be under the misapprehension that Verizon has some sort of policy regarding "fairness".
They also charge you for incoming calls. Even if they're wrong numbers.
Also I hear that 0.02 = 0.0002.
