Speaking of Open Source, the only thing I could think of after reading the summary is Moonlight is not Mono, but MINM is hard to pronounce.

  2. Re:what did he expect? on Student Suspended Over IM Icon · · Score: 1

Public schools have policies that restrict the constitutional rights of students and they can therefore punish students where an adult citizen might only be investigated.

I believe that concept is called in loco parentis. It means "in place of the parent" - that the school acts in the place of the parent while the child is at school. The problem is, it should only apply when the kids "in loco" the school. The kid at home should be free to say what he wants or put whatever he wants on his IM.

It's still a dumb thing to do.

    So just loco.

_Now_ I can actually do what I want. If I want a chocolate, I can go buy a chocolate. If I want to buy a doll, I can go buy a doll. (Or The Sims, which is one hell of a doll house simulator.;) If I want to stay up late playing with it, I can jolly well stay up and play with it. Back then I had a ton of people who knew better what I should be doing, what I should be thinking, what I should be saying, etc. Wow, exactly what I was thinking with all this crap. I would much rather have my freedom than a lack of responsibility any day.
