  1. AMD 2500+ for the win on Which CPU Is Tops in Price/Performance? · · Score: 1

I'll bet the best price/performance chip in years was the AMD 2500+. I bought mine a few years ago for about $60.00 and clocked it to a 3200+. I saved hundreds of dollars then for the same performance, and today I am still doing great with it. Best chip ever.

  6. Give it time on WoW Helping or Hurting the Industry? · · Score: 0

WoW is successful because it is a "blizzardized" mmorpg. I think many would agree that most people who play WOW wouldn't have played other MMORPGs, but because of the polishing ability that Blizzard has, they have opened it up to more people than even possible for MMORPGs before. Over time, these people will get tired of it as WoW is too simple to keep playing like EQ, EQ2, or even SWG. Given time, the people will grow tired of WoW, even with the expansion packs.

  7. Are you guys kidding? on Valve's Gabe Newell Speaks on Console Development · · Score: 0

Valve is absolutely correct in its assessment. Having to develope for multiple platforms that are enormously different (harddrive/ram only for starters) is a major problem! Look at what Valve has done, game wise... I dont think anyone complains about their games. They have done what they do with a fairly stable platform that hasn't changed dramatically. Microsoft is forcing them to change the way games can work by not providing a consistant platform. It does NOT make life easier for them! Steam, even though it is of a completely different nature, is a godsend to almost everybody in the real gaming industry. Look at halflife2. If people actually learned how to work their firewalls, there would be no problems the app works great. They update content and add new stuff all the time, whats to complain about? Look at farking EA/DICE and battlefield2! No updates, well actually a faulty one that needed to be patched, and now a new addon before they fix the original! Why not complain about the bad guys (EA/DICE for crappy non-supported games, M$ for ruining freedom) and praise the good guys and really listen to them.

  8. Re:DVDs should be released immediately on Piracy Not To Blame In Decline of Moviegoers · · Score: 0

Agreed, exact same situation. We had some company come down for the weekend and one night we arbitrarily decided to go rent a movie. We didnt have time, the will to drive to the next town, nor 50 bucks to pay for everything... So we rented bubba-hotem which rather sucked. If the 40 year old virgin, or wedding crashers, were available we would have rented both in a pinch! There is a problem with this scheme... that pirating may increase. Fortunately, the companies will earn so much from regular people who rent or buy the movies, it will offset any loss associated with the increase of piracy.
