I haven't noticed a price increase either, but I have noticed it's been taking about a week (for non-Prime, free shipping) from placing the order to it being shipped. I live in a major metropolitan area and the packages used to ship within a day or two (unless they were out of stock), but the last few orders were all held for at least five working days before shipping. All the items were "sold and shipped by Amazon". Maybe coincidence, but I do see a lot of people mentioning it.
If you've really been a Linux user (assuming it has been your main OS) for 12 years, why have you felt the need to spend so much time tinkering and tweaking? Are you constantly switching to the latest and greatest distribution/desktop environment when it's released? I've used Slackware (Blackbox/Fluxbox WM) for the last 10 years and my major tinkering/tweaking days ended before the turn of the century.
When I get a new PC it takes at most a 2-3 hours (including copying all my personal/configuration data from backup) to install and configure. One of the main reasons I continue to use Linux is because I don't want to spend time tinkering/tweaking the system.
That would be a perfect tool for any potential criminal. Remotely view sites of interest - look for departure/arrival patterns for any house, find out who lives alone and rarely has visitors, the possibilities are endless. It doesn't look like Penn actually spent much time thinking through this one.
Yes, shoot the messenger. The media should be (but is most often not) a counterweight to government/corporate propaganda and their job should not be to protect the interests of those in power (conservative/liberal, republican/democrat, or tory/labour.)
If those crimes had not been committed, no photos would exist, so you wouldn't be able to make any statements about the journalists seeking "ratings". Your view of who acted irresponsibly is misguided.
The length of time the pictures existed before being released is irrelevant. The issue is that it's much easier for someone to take pictures with a digital camera and transmit (email attachment or upload to website) those pictures to an unlimited number of people without anyone (military personnel especially) viewing or even knowing the pictures were taken.
They don't need to carry/buy rolls of film and then send the rolls off to be developed, where some photo lab clerk could view the pictures.
I picked up a Planar Video-EX (http://www.planar.com/Products/Accessories/Video_ EX.html) a few days ago and it looks better than my ATI AIW Pro 128, but it does have some odd artifacts (very small vertical black and white lines) during fast motion. I would like to know how the Planar stacks up against the Viewsonic and other models.
Maybe some laws need to be passed that differentiate between "for profit entities" and "citizen" privacy/free speech rights. Within the workplace, a citizens(employee) privacy/rights are greatly reduced, so why shouldn't a for profit be equally restrained when interacting with the general public?
Just how often does a painter immersed in the creative act stop to think about minutiae of the paintbrush? Or worse still, get interrupted by the paintbrush?
Well, if you picked up a paint brush for the first time when you were 20 years old, and were serious about becoming proficient, I'm sure you would pay quite a bit of attention to the minutiae of the paintbrush. At least until you were comfortable with what you could do with it. The unix "find" command may seem cumbersome at first, but now my fingers type it without any "conscious" thinking on my part. It's just a matter of repetition, as long as the task not impossible.

Funding for NASA would increase 100 fold if they found a planet that naturally produces Viagra or Rogaine.
What about this last paragraph from the reuters report.
"However, in mid-afternoon, a Reuters reporter received two ''Love Bug'' faxes inadvertently sent from a Microsoft public relations officer's computer. The virus can also send itself by computer-controlled faxes but will not infect fax machines."
Whew, I'm glad to see my fax machine isn't running Outlook.

Galeon has a little "x" on the right side of the tab that you can click to close. It's really an amazing browser.

I would be shocked if this isn't driven by the telco's within the Philippines (unless the government makes money directly from telephone usage.) Speck
