  1. Old tech on Water From Wind · · Score: 0

This idea has been used for hundreds (possibly thousands) of years. Lots of moisture collecting hills have been found around the world. They don't dessicate the air any more than all that breathing by humans humidifies it. It's a clever, clean way to get water where there is none to be had from ground sources.

  2. Aluminum is right, but you don't have to change on Transparent Aluminum a Reality · · Score: 0

Aluminum fits with more elements - Sodium, Lithium, Magnesium etc. The extra i comes from nowhere as the ore is Alumina, so Aluminum is more correct. Although here in the UK I don't think we'll see any changes just yet. A Chemistry Teacher

  3. Cool on Hydrogen Generating Module to Help Your Car? · · Score: 0

Just how much power does the alternator produce that is unneeded to top up the battery and keep the engine rolling along, therefore going to waste? Is this addon simply using the extra power to electrolyse water? Seems like a good idea to me.

  4. This is kind of good on Bulky System Requirements for Windows Vista · · Score: 0

MS will force a hardware revolution - everyone will have to make bigger and faster hardware just to run Vista. And think about buying a new box and putting XP on it instead. 2GB ram minimum, GPU with 1Gb ram etc etc. It'd fly!

I hope they filter the results before it's sent...

I, for one, welcome our new plastic overlords. Was that right?

  7. The age of drug tests before exams on Drug Reverses Effects of Sleep Deprivation · · Score: 0

I'm sure this drug, coupled with a new discovery of a drug that increases IQ on the short term would be of enormous benefit to students worldwide :) Is there such a drug combination I wonder?

  8. Amazing! on Vietnam Medic Makes Homemade Endoscope · · Score: 0

Well done that man. If only more people would find cheap alternatives to expensive 1st world solutions, the crappier parts of the world would be a lot less crappy.

  9. Go for it Bones........ on Warming Up Mars With Greenhouse Gases · · Score: 0

According to myth the Earth was created in 6 days. Now, watchout! Margarita Marinova will do it in 6 minutes! Really. I'm sure the benefit of wrecking another planets climate will far outweigh the benefits of actually learning what Mars is all about.

  10. How many amps can you get from a windmill? on Making Fire From Water · · Score: 0

Just a thought, what about combining this with a personal wind turbine? Could you get enough energy for a real fire, with nothing more than water as the fuel source, effectively for free on the electricity side?

  11. VB's not dead on Visual Studio Hacks · · Score: 0

MS Visual Studio is one thing they got right, or as right as most people need it to be. Fast, simple software development. It's a shame that VB has been forced over to .NET. I think VB should return with a VB7 release. Then more hobby coders could dabble more with it rather than .NE, which is sadly a bit of a pain. Come on MS, chang eyour minds and get VB7 on the go.

  12. No on Equal Time For Creationism · · Score: 0, Flamebait

No no no no no. No. No no no. No no no no no, no. Just no. ID supporters, Creationists and the like should be fed to the lions, and I do mean that literally. For it to be linked to EDUCATION in any way is simply abhorrent.

  13. have a laugh on Injecting Audio Into Insecure Bluetooth Handsets · · Score: 1

You could whipser 'Kill them all..... ' over and over at passing cars. I'm sure you could set it up to do it automagically too :)

  14. Holodeck on View-Dependent Stereoscopic Projection · · Score: 1

Back projection on all 6 surfaces, coupled with an interactive floor. Is that possible? So you can walk but remain in the same location? Would be almost a holodeck but you just couldn't touch the ladies.
