I agree totally. Geeks are seen as outcasts by a lot of people, when really, most of us are normal, or even better than them. Just because we know computers, that shouldn't outcast us. If the power had gone out, we would have been blamed for NOT fixing the problem. If it doesn't, we are blamed for causing a giant hype. We are the scapegoats whether we help or not. What I think would be funny is if every geek, for one day, stood back and said "no, sorry, your turn now." and did nothing. It'd be a nice holiday, and they would realize how important we are in everyday life after half the world's economy and power crashed. Only problem would be, OUR lights and money would be gone...
Thank you for pointing that out! I am getting tired of some of these stories. Nothing is important anymore! I barely read any of the articles anymore, I just skim because of all the crap!
I think you're wrong. You're saying not even one-celled basic animals are living on another planet? Wrong. I can definetly say that with confidence. Look at the size of the universe, and what we already know! We have already found about 3 or 4 planets that can inhabit life. An example is mars. They found fossilized bacteria there (Bacteria counts as life), there are ice caps (meaning water), and it's atmosphere is made of mainly carbon dioxide! Think before you post these things. Oh yeah, and we'll last more than a few decades. I actually give us a few centuries, if not more. We are a very adaptable species. What about yours?
I find there is no such thing as being TOO cynical. the more you criticize, the more people can improve. That guy who wrote the paragraph does have a point about being able to do many things at once (Heck, at this very moment I have 3 browsers up, a couple of folders I'm looking at and listening to music, but what he did is WAY too much. And about that tv thing, GOD THAT'S RETARDED!
