What I did is simply use the ipchains support that is present in the 2.4 kernel, and use my existing ruleset. Works like a charm. When I feel the need, THEN I can rewrite it specifically for iptables. But for now, why bother?
I have quite a number of programs on my computer capable of reading PDF files. Only one is from Adobe (and I use it only as a last resort if none of the other programs can read the file correctly).
Well, it was just supposed to be another humorous part of a humorous appdb entry. If I had known that/. would have picked it up, I might have chosen my words a bit more carefully, but oh well.
In retrospect, I doubt that any part of the US Gov't would have any possible motive for releasing this one.
got there at noon or so, not a whole lot going on, just maybe a dozen people with six signs, talking to passersby and handing out flyers.
wish there could have been some media coverage; oh well.
the austin protest, among others, was planned very late... you would have had to either wade through the mailing list traffic or wait until it showed up sunday on boycottadobe.org to know about it. d'oh! -----
Even though not directly relevant to the story (except that I have a copy of the Felten paper at the site I'm about to mention), this comment is not totally offtopic, so please don't bury it...

As long as there's a few hackers somewhere on the planet who want the Slack tradition to continue, it will.
I myself have almost a dozen boxen installed with Slack, and it's about to be one more.
I have a proxy that makes ALL of my browsers look like Konqueror. Including IE. And MSN doesn't like that, either.

So you go to Slashdot University then? (You can get to /., but not to other sites...)
You just don't get it, do you...
We are at war with the Arabs, we always have been at war with the Arabs, and we always will be at war with the Arabs.

I posted the wine appdb entry:
2 77

All of these parameters that can be adjusted about the backlight... white point, brightness, color-cycling (ugh)....
I'd only be happy with one of these if all three of those were user-adjustable (and that includes turning off the last one).
I have both Konqueror and Netscape working through a JunkBuster proxy with no problems; the proxy re-IDs the browsers as Konqueror.
I did have to enable lots of promiscuous cookies; for a full list of the servers you need to accept, reply to this comment.
sure. although if you wouldn't mind leaving the connection on for a while, auto-resume software would work perfectly well, just take a while...
I didn't mean for that to be AC.

The main site goes back to 3.2 now, I think, but they used to go back to 3.0.... don't know why they removed the older ones :-(
In any case, what I'm looking for is older than that, I want something with a 1.2 or 1.3 kernel. Heh.
Does anyone know where I can find a full distribution that comes with either a 1.2 or 1.3 kernel?
Better hope these guys don't get arrested for putting out this paper...
(Not that there's any chance of it. But still, it makes you think.)

"Promote AOL as Amazon's exclusive ISP"
WTF? Amazon is not in the ISP business... how does this have anything to do with Amazon? How can Amazon have an exclusive ISP?
This just doesn't make sense.

Slackware 8 is most definitely the best version yet... it kicks major ass. Go download (or purchase!) it today and try it out.

I always use localhost for outgoing mail anyway. It saves a lot of hassle.

and I just upgraded to 2.4.6 on two machines yesterday.
Well, that's progress for you. At least it keeps on coming.
