What's a Google?
"Googol" is the mathematical term for a 1 followed by 100 zeros. The term was coined by Milton Sirotta, nephew of American mathematician Edward Kasner, and was popularized in the book, "Mathematics and the Imagination" by Kasner and James Newman. Google's play on the term reflects the company's mission to organize the immense amount of information available on the web.
A voter is given a random card with a unique id on it.
They take this and feed it to a machine.
They proceed to vote and the tally is stored electronically and physically on the paper.
At the end of the session the computer shows the logged results that the person matches, clicking "OK" each time the result on the card matches the result stored electronically.
They then take the card to an attendant who places it into box, the attendant uses a clicker to tally the cards they placed in the box, the box also keeps a count for each card that is passed in.
In the end the results are tallied electronically. If the time comes for a recount we have the exact number of votes cast (electronically, by clicker count, by box count, and by physical paper count), that would effectivly eliminate a good amount of fraud (as far as "lost" votes). Then the actual paper results can be counted and compared to the electronic count.
If there are discrepencies I would say the effects should be extreme, such as a re-vote in the affected area or some other measure equally as drastic.
If we did that results should not be real time, we shouldn't who leads and where they lead. We should figure out where there are problems, correct the problem areas and then decide who is the winner...
When I played way to much chess, I would dream about crushing openings and elegant solutions to sticky situations. Whenever it happened I would decimate the opposition the following day.
I haven't played seriously on years and nowadays my 7 year old can actually draw me from time to time:)
I was working for a development firm, we had long term client who had made use of many other development firms.
We landed a big project, the client had us work with another development firm, this one out of India to supplement our skill set, throw more bodies on the project, and so they had a clear understanding of the architecture when they took it over later.
We came to find out that the head programmer working with us would go directly to the client and tell them how poorly we performed, that we didn't know what we were doing and other such niceties.
The PM from the client bought it, and we were removed from the project (an action that within 6 month caused 130 people to loose jobs.)
The other firm left with our architecture, our code, and our self esteem, we left the company with 2 weeks severance.
The most ironic part was that these guys came in with no knowledge of the platform! We taught them to Java as we went! That was the biggest slap in the face that I have ever received.
What are you going to do, hopefully this kind of stuff will run rampant and leave a nasty taste in everyones mouth.
I have been to EVERY local bookstore. EVERY ONE (that was listed or I have heard of by word of mouth) I have traveled HUNDREDS of miles to go book hunting for fun. NEVER have I found a selection that beats Borders and I have never ever ever purchased anything at a better price. NEVER.
For instance I shopped only at one store for all my Sci-Fi and Role Playing books and material. For years. I would drive back home hundreds of miles on the weekends after a new shipment was in. Eventually a Gamekeeper opened up in the mall. They carry EVERYTHING * 1000 that I need. Now they don't have a ton of the more limited and underground publishers titles, but guess what? Neither does the other shop, why? Simple they can't afford to keep stock of items no one will buy.
Do you stock 300 copies of the Principia Discordia? Or 300 copies of To Kill a Mockingbird because school kids will always have to buy it, over and over year in and year out? If so I can get a copy for $6. How much does your distributor charge? Look it up... now how much are you going to charge me? How much profit do you need to make on sale of a book like Principia Discordia compared to To Kill A Mockingbird?
You have to be kidding me. Did I watch the same movie? Gollumn was pathetic. It could only impress a child, I mean come on. You are nuts if you were blown away by him or his performance. Maybe the performance was terific and the rendering was to blame? I can't belive anyone would even consider that. Why not give an Oscar to Goku. What a joke. Please explain this to me? This is really a joke right?
How in the blue hell can you mistake a 1 for a 5, or a 1 for a 10, or a 5 for a twenty?
Oh my, I looked at the 5 and thought I gave you a twenty, but really it was a 50 because... I AM STUPID.
Apperently most aliens are stupid. "How the hell can I tell the difference between a 1 and a 5 dollar bill when the number are printed so clearly on them? This is just ridiculus!"
I find it strange that I saw Spider Man the day after it opened at the second screening and there were no problem getting tickets. I went right up bought my tickets no line no fuss. The theater was at about 70% capacity.
I saw Star War Episode II there two days after it opened and I could not get tickets until the 5:20 showing. There were people standing in-line to get tickets, and people standing in-line to get into the theatre. ( I had to wait hours for my showing in-line so we could get seats together ).
Maybe the 500 screens made a difference maybe not, but I find it strange the number don't reflect the experince I had. I am sure my expereince wan't out of the norm.
That people who suggest these solutions are just lacking in the technical knowledge and know how to offer up a better solution? I see this all the time. People who seem very intelligent over all making bad calls like this because they lack exposure to other things. What do you think?
The people who have, do, and will continue to contribute to Linux never had big business in mind. They spent there own time to make something that they loved better.
Throughout the long road of Linux's development different people have had different needs. Those who needed went out and did. Meaning that they created what they needed because they cared and wanted to.
People who develop for Linux don't have customers in mind. They should never have customers in mind. They write and maintain programs for themselves and those like them.
That's what makes Linux strong. Each individual who holds up a pole in the Linux pavilion.
Cleveland isn't all that bad. Decent pay compared to COL that is. Relaxed as all hell. Every place I have been with is revery cool and very relaxed. It almost seems that that the more relaxed you appear to everyone else the more prestigious your company seems. Theres alot of stuff to do. Alot of good shows (concerts/shows whatever) hell of alot of strip clubs;) the Flats... I dunno just sayin...

Doesn't seem to be all that hard really.
Any thoughts?
"determine if any licensing needs to indeed exist."
Well, along those lines...
:)

The first ime I was tasked with creating a more complex database I read a book called "Database Design for Mere Mortals" it really helped out.
1 9/ qid=1024686302/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_1/102-8984857-99665 49
I recommend it to anyone getting into database work.

"Peter Parker has a different view, and so do the millions of kids making his movie a smash."
"The message to kids especially was follow the Force, but rake in the cash."
This guys is crazy. Certifiable.
He belives both Peter Parker a.k.a. Spiderman and the Force are real.
Lock this guy up now...

You are wrong. In my situation thay take about 28%. Not all is tax. I pay health, and disability. Those last two are my choice...

We owe those people allot. They do not owe us.
