I've done several psychedelics (above average dose, but nothing crazy) and DMT is the only drug that actively altered my senses rather than just messing with my perception. Sight, sound, smell, and especially time went completely wonky. The effects wear off after about 5 minutes, but that 5 minutes can go on and on and on.
I left AA after my court-appointed time ended, but I have to say that AA has many good elements. I found a group that really focused on living life rather than fearing alcohol, loving Jesus, or comparing drunk stories. Unfortunately, AA was developed at a point when Christianity and it's moral teachings were a fact of life in America, so too much nonsense is infused and no one is prepared to make the necessary modifications.
Wow, that guy knows how to make a movie. I'd like to hear more, but his Episode 2 would differ so greatly that I'm not sure it'd be feasible to use mash-ups. His episode 3 would circle back though, and be more than just Anakin's transformation. Multiple threads of interest, o my!
I preferred all 3 Star Wars prequels to JJ Abram's Star Trek. The movie was all fan service throw backs and Michael Bay action sequences. Even if George Lucas did a poor job with the prequels, at least he tried to create something new-ish.
I've never understood this. All 3 are fantastic action movies wrapped in a painful shell of horrendous sci-fi and philosophy. In fact, if the whole thing were one movie with the only intention of creating a fighting god out of Neo and then mashing all the Neo/Agent Smith fights together, watchability would skyrocket.
What makes you think they won't be using this model in a new HL game? And since they have more money, they can hire more developers and make more games. Maybe you are missing the part where no one will pay for content in crappy games.
I'd say you're the lazy one. I spend most of my time working and improving myself. That I have ample money to plop down for all the add-ons when I download TF2 is because I am not lazy. YMMV, some people just have money, others don't have to work as hard as I do.
Not in the slightest. I can play TF2 without paying a cent. I cannot user a razor without a blade. The first is paying for additional content. The second is rent seeking.
If a game is pay to win, it'll eventually lose it's customer base. You may have noticed that TF2 is explicitly trying not to be pay-to-win. I'm not a user, so I don't know, but at least they are trying. And eventually a functioning model where game designers are encouraged to improve the game while gamers can't just "pay to win" will develop.
So different people value different items in game differently, ergo the system is broken? Certainly there's a psychological factor involved with many small purchases vs 1 large purchase, but suggesting that people need to value a game purchase the same as many micro-transactions is ludicrous. Sounds like old-man syndrome.
A million dollars may be an interesting amount to us peons, but companies like Sony, Nokia, and my current employer can toss a million dollars at something just because it might be important to have an "in" at some point in the future. My company throwing money at Linux would be very odd to most people, but if my division had hired different people at the top 5 years ago, we could have been a large Linux shop. That we make consumer goods is irrelevant to our computing needs.
You certainly know how to spit out studies, but you seem to have missed a lot of connection.
First off, sugar's affect on metabolism is not linear. Ingesting a little sugar may increase the body's caloric need above the sugar's caloric content. Ingesting a lot of sugar definitely does not. Otherwise a mountain dew would be some unbelievable drug with lethal consequences.
Secondly, sugar comes in many forms, and those forms are packaged in various substances. No substances will have exactly the same affect on the body as another. Getting to the sugar in a sugar pill may be the cause of the increased caloric need while getting to the sugar in a mountain dew requires almost no change in caloric need.
Thirdly, bodies digest substances differently based on state. If I've been to the gym for an hour everyday for a year, my body won't notice much difference between the sugar pill and nothing at all. If my metabolic rate is effectively zero though, the sugar pill can have notice effects, as any ingested substance can.
Bad karma? It lauds enthusiastic torturers as good guys. We've already lost. The prison system in the US is one of our pain points. Admitting to the problem isn't difficult, but proposed solutions require too much cultural change for Americans to handle.
See jythie's comment above. We Americans really hate bad guys, and it's culturally acceptable to do horrible things to bad guys. And the people who do those horrible things are heroes. Yes, we have a lot of cultural nonsense to clean up, but so does everyone else.
Probably a good idea to host in Iceland too. The US will take jurisdiction anyway they can, whether it's DNS or physical servers, you will be hosed if they can get their hands on any of it.
There is no need to add USA to the definition of the international TLDs. They are meant to be open to the world. However, as the US did create them, they are want to assert authority over them. That's a US legal issue, not an issue with the definition of a TLD.

A bad marriage. Great sex with someone you love can force priority re-adjustment ;)
Neither the title nor the summary had a question. What if anything were you trying to say?
Just another nonsensical comment about drugs from someone who has never used them. That's what makes these discussions so difficult.
Interesting. I have anecdotal evidence to the exact opposite. She was understandably upset.
Mod this guy up. Promoting a FUD free Slashdot.

Addiction to LSD? Clearly you speak FUD.
Lol, nice reference. Easily the best character and actor on the show, but I'm not sure that helps establish who Toper Grace is.

Creativity (no quotes required) is the ability of a human to create. Entertainment from the creation is another issue entirely.

Because a sysadmin was allowed to pick technology and ensure job security for as long as they wanted. Smart admin, dumb company.
