Actually I don't believe this, but you whiny post sounded so stupid that I couldn't resist. I know it's in vogue to bash on Americans, but try to be original and not one of the herd.
Those were my thoughts too when I read the post. Knowing how iTunes works for authorizing DRM'd music, the scenario being described is not possible. The poster is either severely uninformed or lying (or both).
- Oh jeez, if you want to be taken seriously then stop using cheeseball terms that I'd expect from a Scientologist. Giving people who disagree with you some derogatory label lowers your credibility and reeks of cult behavior.
"I think the ice shelves breaking is more likely to be caused by sea level rise though."
- Data please? I'm sorry to be such a stickler on this, but since the pro-AGW crowd always expounds on the merits of science and data then I would expect they would provide some when a claim like this is made.
"But, CO2 concentrations are at 380 ppm today. That's a level it hasn't hit in the last half million years. If we're seeing natural variability alone, it's quite a coincidence that it occurs right when we started excavating fossil fuels to fuel a billion cars."
- "It's quite a coincidence does" NOT equate to evidence or scientific data. If the data you quote is correct it does show that these CO2 concentrations have appeared before and they appeared long before man was tooling around in an SUV. . .
"Plus, the Vostok data is a little difficult to analyze in this manner, but it seems like at Vostok the CO2 always increased 600 years AFTER the temperature started to increase. At least, that's the way it used to work. Right now, the CO2 concentration is at an unprecedented level but the temperature is barely above normal. Again, that suggests that we're not facing natural climate change, we're dealing with anthropogenic abrupt climate change."
- I don't see how that suggests man made climate change at all? How did you make that leap of logic. All it suggests is the Vostok data does not follow the same pattern we see today, but that is hardly evidence of man made global warming.
Are all the scientific conclusions in this are based on huge leaps of disconnected logic like I see in this post?
It's not that it can't be done, it's that it sucks battery life. Did you view the presentation from the iPhone 3.0 event? They ran tests on running background apps on multiple platforms and measured battery life, it it shortened it by 80%. Considering how much MORE iPhone users seem to use their phones this could be a major problem and why they chose not to enable background apps.
I agree. IPv6 could really add some cool options to life, but I'm sure the government/corporations will screw it up and add all that crap to new devices.
A side note, would IPv6 eliminate some arguments against RIAA lawsuits? Taht would be the best way to get it implemented (not that I'm in favor of the RIAA) is to have them fund the transition.
And a tangent: Pretty gutsy quoting the bible on/. I'm surprised you haven't been crucified yet (no pun intended) because folks on here don't take kindly to that.
Except, you know, the poster your responding to didn't say time for "Americans" to invade, he/she just said time for "us" to invade. Americans are tired of non-Americans blaming us for being Americans that invade non-Americans in an attempt to make them Americans! (Chew on that!)
For the record, I agree with you. I'm getting tired of us "liberating" people too. Maybe they could liberate me from my student loan debt and mortgage and I'd be more in favor of liberation.
Based on the tone of your comment I would assume that your posts are more driven from a disklike of Apple then anything based on logic or impartial deduction.
"it would appear to be a piece of marketing fluff from the company that is best at that."
"a company which is very good at polishing other people's ideas"
Has it ever occured to you that maybe the reason they keep this close to the vest until they release it is because everything they do seems to end up in the next version of Windows? Rather than give Windows more time to copy they wait until the last minute to release details. Jobs learned his lesson decades ago regarding Microsoft and I believe that is one reason Apple is so secretive now.
But, I digress, if you want to hate Apple then that's fine, but calling it vaporware is a bit of stretch. If they release Snow Leopard and it's not in the release THEN you'll have a point.
Actually Apple DOES focus on what something does. They focus on it so well that they don't release half baked functionality just to lengthen their feature list. When they do release a feature it works and it works well and it's usually well thought out and a pleasure to use. Thus you demonstrate my very point, you're so focused on a feature list (and the blatant BS of style over substance) that you don't see that HOW a feature works is necessary in order to make a feature useful.
The most notable exception on the Blackberries of course is a well thought out UI. Adside from that it's just swell using a phone an rubics cube at the same time.
I am an Apple fan, have Macs and an iPhone, but I agree on this one. I like the idea of the App Store, I think it benefits consumers and developers, but they should only test apps for possible malware and stability. I don't like Apple deciding whether an app is "appropriate".
But what if what works for other people is an Apple product? It seems that you're being "faddish" and jumping on the "hate Apple because of the false perception that they are all style and no substance" bandwagon. It's a bit disappointing that you're such a snob that you can't see that others might like a different product than you, and like it for reasons that you don't understand nor approve of. . ...

"Typical prideful American bullshit."
- Typical non-American hatred inspired by jealously and envy towards Americans.

Or, they could get a Mac and have the best of both worlds.
Sorry, couldn't resist!
US leaves after LOSING the war and failing to achieve military and political victory. (Cue video of helicopters evacuating the US Embassy in Saigon).
Care to re-evaluate your criteria for winning?
Eeeaaaassssy big fella. Just put down the gun and we'll talk about it. Eeeaassssy.
Seriously, did you write that yourself or is there just a random nut-ball generator that you found online.
Nice post. . . I think you just hate him because he is black.

I think you nailed it right on the head with this one. I would make one addition at the end though. . .
people> baaaaaa! baaaaaaa! baaaaaaa!

Yeah, I guess I should have clarified.
"I'm a HateBoi and I'm so focused on feature lists that I can't understand why people love the iPhone!"
No haters have piled on here yet so I'll fill in for them. . . .
Apple is the devil. I have this feature on my Nintendo 64. My blackberry has a direct T-1 to God. Etc. Etc.
I would agree with that, but they were obviously forced by the short-sighted RIAA.
Except, you know, you're not ACTUALLY locked in. But aside from that I agree with your point.
No. You're saying I bought music because of DRM?

I guess I don't get it, because that sentence doesn't make an ounce of sense!
$199 is ridiculously over priced? Are you a freetard?
