Sooo, the point of y our post is that despite any data to back up your assertion, iPhone apps are just as bad, no wait, they're WORSE because at least with Android you can install a tool to monitor yourself getting fucked in the ass? And that somehow makes it better than iPhone?

That doesn't come across as too much of a rationalization.

Well the good news is that most people don't care and they just want to use their phone with the latest OS installed without having to root their phone. So the only "fail" would appear to be on the part of Android phones that are unnecessarily locked out of OS updates. On my iPhone I always get the latest OS update, and I don't have to go through the process of rooting the phone. How's that walled garden you're living in there pal?

Apple busted their ass to make a breakthrough phone that changed the industry and all people can do is whine about it. They certainly shouldn't have the opportunity to profit off their hard work, should they?

My iPhone purchase was to pay for a ground breaking product that works great. Your attempt to spin this beyond that is simply disingenuous BS.

Or like there's no way they would place illegal wiretaps on domestic telephony/internet traffic and then retroactively shield themselves and the companies that cooperated? You're talking how it would work in a rational world, I'm talking about how it's been happening in our country for the last 10 years (probably more, but it seems to have accelerated).

If we (the USA) would get the heck out of these Muslim countries and leave them alone then they would leave us alone. It is OUR meddling foreign policy which has pissed people off over there and that is why the towers went down (Al Qaida actually came out and said that) so we invaded their countries before they attacked ours. I don't support the terrorists actions, but maybe we should start lumping ourselves in with the terrorists since we do essentially the same thing multiplied by 1000. The AC poster was right, it's our nations lack of moral compass that has brought us here. Militant Islam was a minor annoyance before we invaded Afghanistan and Iraq, now it's almost fashionable because our meddling has created a US vs Islam mindset around the world.

I disagree. I think it would be thrown out of court on summary judgement too, but only because it's a government search, and the courts are doing very little to curb government when it comes to safety or security any more. Wrap a law in the terrorism flag and the court will pucker up and suck on it.

The TSA BS is out of control. We have a small, not particularly bright army of people to pay for who have been given an enormous amount of power to do whatever the hell they want, and they know the government will shield them from just about any complaint. That is not good.

I honestly don't think so, I certainly don't, and Apple is betting they don't either, which is why they are NOT restricting people, but rather approaching this concept with a different business model. You're not storing everything in the cloud, but the cloud is a way to make sure all your devices are automatically synced with no management effort from the user. They may end up being wrong, but I think we'll find that the public will like this business model.
