I agree. This way, MS can be seen protecting its OEM clients. It is also possible that if MS include EFI feature, the launch date could be delayed. Which ever way you look at it. We, the consumers, get the shaft again.
Thanks Bill
I agree with you on " Conflict being the only driving force of change." However, people will take it to far and make the conflict violence based. That is what many terrorism based organization thinks and innocent people dying are the result. People tend take issues to the extreme.
I have no problem with confrontation, just the violence.
More wirless transmission module = higher cost. The hub approach is really the best. 1 wireless module for 4 devices, instead 1 wireless module for 1 devices.
Just wait until some code engineered monster goes nuts and start killing people and we have to send in an unit of elite fighting unit to take them out.....
I grew up under the nuclear threat of Communist China in Taiwan. Nuclear weapon does not defend but destroys. It escalate situation beyond control, not to mention its nasty side effects on the population.
Nuclear weapon is a coward's out of a conflict for incompetent politicians. A conflict can be resolved in negotiated peace thru understanding, traditional warfare or diplomatic balancing acts (like Taiwan).
By the way, I was talking about Nuclear Weapon; Serbia was bombed by conventional ordinances. I have nothing against conventional warfare; it has to be done sometimes. Do you really think India can be or need to be protected from Chinese nuclear weapon? Nope, it was built to intimidate Pakistan. What Pakistan do? They get nuclear weapons as well.
"Just because the white people have it, we must have it as well" argument does not really work here. There are always clear political ulterior motives for advance weapon development.
The market is not always black and white. There are a lot of grey areas. That is why there are different price points in the market. Some consumers may not buy a song at $1.49, but as the price goes down, more and more consumers will buy. For example: The hardcore fan will buy at $1.49, the get to enjoy the song first. The normal fan will buy at $0.99 to 1.29 at a later date. The casual fan will buy at USD 0.79, when the song is on the way out of the top 10. There is a never fixed market over TIME!
Agreed! I am not a MS fan either, but I agree with you. I thought of Windows security issue as buying a car. If I buy a car from Ford, and someone shoot at me with a gun and damages my car, I would never get pissed off at Ford for not building it bullet proof. It is hard to guard malicious intent of people today. The firewall and anti-spyware software are just like the bullet proof after market upgrade for cars. However, MS does have the corporate responsibility to improve the product as the malicious intents (spyware) becomes part of the environment, as they are doing now. In the mean while we will just have to the aftermarket solutions.
Agreed. Ever since the Catholic Church came to terms with the roles of science and religion they have reconcile their separate roles in society. There are a lot of scientists in the Catholic Church today. This is one of the few areas the Catholi Church is doing well today.
There is no problem of MS looking out for its own interest. However, the gov't is elected by the people and should work in citizens' interest. Can't you see the conflict here?
Maybe a national privacy law deserves consideration, but it should only be considered at citizens' interest. MS' action should be seen with suspicion.
Yeah, and how many percentage of people in China has tap water, toilet, electricity or a proper education. Not to mention the freedom of speech, religion, and press! A measure of a nation's greatness is not in its extraordinary act but in its citizens' everyday life.
Well, they are required to maximized the value of their shareholder's stock. The fastest way to do that is usually to maximize the profit. Anything else is irrelevent!
Look where it got them.
That is why you will not find iPod in Walmart!

Good god! Is there anything beer can't do? It already fights cancer!
Pardon me, I have been watching too much Animal Planet and the Discovery Channel.

There are 2 ways of looking at it
1. Social interaction breeds confrontation. If this is so, then we are no better than a pack of wolves.
2. We socialize as a mean to confront other human or animals
Either way is sad....

True, but I think they can do without the nuclear weapons.
Just wait until some code engineered monster goes nuts and start killing people and we have to send in an unit of elite fighting unit to take them out.....
Wait, I am confusing my game play with reality.
No choice!!?? There is always choice.

Nuclear weapon does not do anyone good at all.
Where is the Indian government in all of this?
Oh, I forget, this is the gov't rather get nuclear weapon than give its people running water!
No, it is for reversing and debugging.
This is a good one from Google! This has gone beyond advertising! This is a big step of transforming just advertising to real sales leads!!!!

Ballmer throws a chair across the room and says
"I am going to bury Blue Gene, I have done it before......"
MS needs to get a clue.
I knew it, the bigfoots are real!

Another shining example of corporation dictate the law thru lobbying to creat another captive market to make money.
They even list out the steps to enact such standard and procedure!
I am sure MS has some codes ready to sell when their suggestion becomes law.
However, a national standard does deserve a consideration, just not on MS' term.
A well executed vision turns into profit! Apple still has a long way to go.
Watch your language kid. This is a sophisticated blog.
