You could, but that would leave the wifi on and waste battery faster than normal. Also then it's annoying because transferring stuff off of it means just copyings things down somewhere else, rather than just copying a text file or something.
This is actually a pretty good suggestion, the resume basically is isntantaneous. If you want to take notes on it you will have to get a homebrew cart. The main problem with this though is that the screen is really quite small for stuff like this, I tried it for a while but it just doesn't work. I would actually recommend a smartphone with QWERTY keyboard for this guy, seems like it'd be the best solution.
Haha, I guess you're right. But even if the staff was the same, the management might not be, and they might be more focused on making money easily rather than making a good product, and everyone knows that any decent game with the Star Wars license is guaranteed to sell well. Anyway, I just had another idea that will unfortunately likely never happen. It would be amazing if there was a homebrew port of Jedi Knight II/Jedi Academy to the Wii with good lightsaber controls with Wii Motion Plus. Incidentally, 1:1 motion control is impossible no matter what technology is used unless they develop something to actively push against you when you hit something. I suppose it's theoretically possible since IIRC they used the Quake 3 engine, but very, very unlikely.
I miss Jedi Knight II... whatever happened to that storyline, anyway? Kyle Katarn was awesome. Jedi Academy was really fun too. The dual-sided lightsaber was so powerful, I loved it. This is bringing back a lot of memories, of the days when Lucasarts didn't suck.
I'm hoping that after next year's GSOC, it will work completely and have a decent UI. The problem is that the pidgin developers are pretty busy fixing bugs and changes in protocols and don't care for additional features. I can see their point of view, and it seems like any users who would have the ability to code something like this don't want it, and the ones that want it can't code VV. Personally, I don't care for it but it will be nice to have a lot of the bitching silenced.
Yeah, I enjoy mine too and Vista's tablet support is even better, especially since it's built in. The handwriting recognition is surprisingly good, and OneNote is awesome for taking notes. I've been really impressed with my tablet, since MS isn't exactly known for being polished, but the experience so far has been really good.
Dunno, I just started college and I got a tablet, along with 5 other friends, and here I regularly see a ton of tablets. They are catching on, it's just that until recently there haven't been many affordable tablets. But now HP's got the awesome tx2000/2500 series for under a grand USD, which is really nice. Also, the slate style tablets w/o flippable screens would suck for stuff like writing this comment. I don't see what's so complex about spinning the screen around. Everyone who sees it is pretty impressed, even a die-hard Mac user I know. Swiveling screens are actually useful beyond just converting to a tablet too, eg. if you're working on something and you want to show someone in front of you.
I don't know whether to be more surprised that you RTFA or that they left off the Gamecube. Melee was THE party game for many people until Brawl came out.
This summer there was a Summer of Code project for Voice/Video and I think the guy made pretty good progress, but I think right now if you grab the VV branch from monotone and are able to compile it you will only be able to talk to people who are also using Pidgin. But at least it's a start, and maybe next summer someone will finish the job, if the developers aren't able to finish it or don't want to (I suspect more of the latter, but I'm OK with it since the only person I would talk to on google talk is my annoying cousin).
I'm not sure you're understanding how this works? The native resolution is completely unrelated to what resolution a game or OS runs in. The "native resolution" means--for an LCD--the actual number of pixels. A game or OS CAN run at the native resolution, or it can run at another resolution taking up the actual pixels, or it can be stretched by the LCD, or it can upscaled via software. But this is all kind of irrelevant to the issue at hand, because Starcraft...cannot...do...scaling.
Grr... I know all that, my point was that the LCD's scaling algorithm is much inferior to having the graphics engine do it. It looks a lot better when an LCD is running at native resolution. That had nothing to do with starcraft, and only relates to Warcraft III. My point was in your first post, you said
I don't think they wanted to change the viewport size--can make a big difference.
which is irrelevant because they could have had multiple resolutions of sprites and kept the viewport size the same, like they do with Warcraft III except without sprites obviously. I've plenty of experience with War3 at different resolutions, I think I've played over 600 hours of Warcraft III lol. In any case, I think this discussion has gone on far longer than it needed to.
What the hell? Is there something wrong with your brain? Also, I guess you think you're being creative and cool by using that $.
Why the fuck are your user directories on your Windows partition if you reinstall Windows? That makes no sense.
Maybe, but if they did there'd be hell to pay, and in any case Valve doesn't seem like a dick of a company so I doubt they would do that.
I.e business types.
Yeah, a line-item veto violates separation of powers because it effectively gives the President legislative power.

Haha, nice bit of geek punnery.
Not whining, but I love it when posts at 1 randomly get modded -1: Overrated.
Never played Jedi Outcast online unfortunately, but playing with bots wasn't bad. The lightsaber gameplay in both JKII and JA was great though.

Han shot first!

Oh thanks, that kind of annoys me with my tablet but I adjusted to it after a while. I'll look in to that.

And the Touch Pro is even more awesome, and so is SE Xperia X1 (also made by HTC). Then there's the upcoming Touch HD, 800x480 touchscreen phone.

Because it's great material for soviet russia jokes?

OK, well I've also programmed games using DirectX and Java2D, albeit as an amateur, and I know what goes into that kind of stuff. But whatever.

Indeed. Nouns ftw.
I think GP is confused about who they is, so you're both right.
