"My 15-year-old daughter has been running Mandrake since she was ten. How hard can it be?;-)"
I know 10 year old kids that can play the piano quite well, too. Does that make playing the piano easy?
I'd have to disagree with you. Traditionally (meaning in the CRT days), Viewsonic had a very good reputation for their professional-series monitors. I would have ranked them right up there with Sony, NEC and Mitsubishi for top-notch CRT displays. My experience with their LCD units has been somewhat limited, but I know that they don't PRICE as particularly budget-oriented.
I agree wholeheartedly. That's why I use http://emusic.com/. The albums are all indie label, the songs cost a little over $.25 each (if you buy the higher sub)and are in high-bit-rate, non-DRM'd.mp3 format. I've complained to my friends and co-workers for years that $.99 a song is a rip-off, not a "Good Deal". I buy all my music from Emusic now, and couldn't be happier with it.
I'm not a lawyer, and I'm not a doctor, but I'm pretty sure that the Non-Disclosure agreement is entirely a one-way contract.
The Doctor is bound to not disclose information to 3rd parties (except within the pre-defined bounds of their privacy policy). The patient is certainly free to discuss the details of his or her healthcare with anyone they wish.
I really don't understand what non-disc agreement would ever be in place that would stop a patient from discussing his medical care with 3rd parties. The patient OWNS that information.
If I have to chose between a tech-savvy manager and a management-savvy manager, give me the management-savvy one every time. I don't know that I believe that the two groups are necessarily mutually exclusive, but they certainly CAN be exclusive of one another.
My current employer changed CIO's about a year ago. The old CIO was a from-the-trenches IT guy. Nice guy, perfectly willing to change a toner or help someone get their email if everyone else was busy. In almost a decade as CIO, the department went nowhere. It had the same head count and the same outdated equipment because the tech-savvy manager didn't understand how to work the political side of the office to get a larger budget and more staff.
Our new guy? He understands the basics of IT, but he spent a whole career as a manager and he REALLY knows how to manage projects, relate goals and accomplishments to the upper managers and keep his staff from going crazy from feature-creep and ever-shifting requirements. Sure, it takes 15 min to explain to him how ports work on a firewall but at least I have the time do to the explaining instead of having to run around putting out fires.
In many places, there are only two broadband providers available: the cable company and the CLEC. If they both happen to be unreliable and overpriced (Cox Cable and Sprint, for instance) a third provider would be a welcome option.
A dolphin with a SQUID would seem to be the obvious choice.
Clearly, the smart thing to do is split the difference and get 25 $1,000.00 hookers. Sufficient quantity whilst maintaining quality.
I had a Gravis Ultrasound... What a cool soundcard, light years ahead of Creative at the time, and a cool purple PCB, IIRC.

Well, not the same one, I would hope.
I still don't trust 'em. It's a little like the Mafia deciding to go straight.
