Making decisions esp for a company require _some_ business acumen (Not advocating an Mba) and there are a number of programmers good at programming but suck at managing project.. get an average manager and a good programmer and voila you have a great company..

Exactly... Open Source and linux were developed in the United States. So how come using that becomes anti-american is beyond my comprehension...
