    What is this about the "ruling the internet"? All they did was merge Google Local and Google Maps, two GOOGLE services. How is that ruling the internet? Frankly, they just made Local more helpful.

    Why don't companies just release a patch without telling exactly what the problem is? We see game companies do it all the time. "We have fixed an undisclosed vulnerability..." Why don't we apply that where it is more critical?

    State secrets? Then how did Yahoo get to them? HOW?!?! Either Yahoo writers are hackers (possible), or those aren't really "secrets" just things that the government would like to be secrets.

    Although it is mostly a lack of strength, any gamer can tell you about a faux "withdrawal". You will sit with nothing to do, and if someone suggests something to do, you write it off as boring and unappealing. Personally, all you want to do is play games, and you will eventually go play, or reinstall and play.

    While it is not a biological addiction (debatable), gaming can force the gamer to do outlandish things, including the expenditure of inordinate amounts of money for the sole sake of entertainment. However, addiction is defined as "A behavior that causes the performer to continue the behavior even with obvious negative consequences that would otherwise cause the person to not perform the task in the first place." So according to that, the addiction of gaming is debateable, but from personal experience, it is.

    I think at this point it will be hard to change people's mind, so long as they know about this. It is like the last election: People will take a stance and not move, and there will be precious few neutral or swing states (or people).

    We should take a lesson from this. Expanionism can be bad. Has anyone noticed the tred of increaingly powerful storms over the last 50 years? Global warming is one possible factor. I am not saying it caused Katrina, but warmer waters may have contibuted.

    Why remove it? this is going to cause some problems for older sites, and could cut down on Firefox's popularity, and that is important for a browser with less that 20% market share.

    We need people to use the google toolbar, because that is one more bite out of Microsoft. Although Google works best with Microsoft, the more accessable and usable it is, the better equipped Google will be to do battle with Microsoft. It will finally be a relatively balanced (well more balanced than others) battle between Microsoft and Linux.
    Read the article in PC Magazine (I think) "Why Google scares Gates".
