I really think that Google has been successful because it can out Microsoft, Microsoft. In a manner of speaking because they defy conventional practices and dliver a quality product.
It may be a good thing in the long run by creating a whole new competition to the status quo and prevent the stranglehold that the Baby Bells could create with the latest FCC Rulings.
