I have a Sound Blaster Live! Value with Klipsch ProMedia speakers (they rule, www.klipsch.com), and I tried the drivers from opensource.creative.com and they were cool, but then when I tried ALSA drivers, the install scripts (buildrpm scripts for redhat/mandrake/rpm-bitch-distros) were VERY easy to use, and ALSA drivers put out WAY better sound and bass with my music, so I'm pumped. It also has many things on its page, such as new mixers and programs that it works well with.
only problems i'm having are from not being able to compile c++ executables (i've tried everything..) and i can't set up an alsamixer to make my rear speakers louder. Also, the xmms alsa plugin doesn't work for me (xmms segfaults), and without it, there's a bit of static at the beginning of each song. But it still sounds way better..
Sometime around last year, the field was very excited and happy because a planet was found where there was actually definitive evidence that it existed. It was something about the light or certain waves bouncing off of it during an eclipse. Could someone explain that a bit better? And how it was different from catching other new planets, which is done by sensing gravitational pulls??? I don't know, i'm clueless.
Scott - thanks a lot for your words. I run the AbuseDesk for the ISP i work for... when we get spam from AOL servers, should it be forwarded to abuse@aol.net ? That's where I send mine, and although I never get a response, I read that it is the right place.
If computers became independent and gained self-knowledge, I wonder what they would do about religion/spiritual things. Would they succumb to the pressures of our modern day religions? Would they create their own? Would they worship humans, seeing that we created their first ones? I think its an interesting thought...
I'm not much of a cell phone expert, but one option which I love and is worth its weight in gold if used, is free weekends! It encourages use, and is great for sharing and not worrying about someone running up a tab when you're on the weekend.
the main similarity that I see is rebellion. I know many linux users who do just in rebellion to Microsoft/closed source/satan/whatever. Rap and hip-hop music is obviously very rebellious as well, and that doesn't need to be argued. Hip-hop is a quick, jumpy powerful music, just like the bleeding-edge, quick, and powerful linux. Very cool!
Ok, you might have me there, but this is proof that the open source model will dominate, at least. Seeing that linux runs under open source model, linux will dominate and take best advantage of it.
There's a way more powerful and.. efficient API. I think efficient would be the best way to put it, because from what I know, the libraries are way cleaner and do not produce crap that you'd get from something like some x86 libraries out there. These puppies can also take things like recursion and clean it up better than anything else as well. Mike Roberto (roberto@soul.apk.net) - AOL IM: MicroBerto

So if this computer has overclock errors, gets too hot, or gets a virus, does it become a drunk driver?

Trust me, i get it! Plus, we have an autoresponse :P

Get our asses beat by AMD time and time again
Allow Transmeta to take over the mobile market
Pump billions of dollars into technology that we will never get to work
Keep talking about Merced or any 64-bit processor but never do anything with it
Sue/Get Sued by anyone with a heartbeat (also Microsoft! not sure if they have a heartbeat..)
Fake profit earnings after getting killed by AMD/Transmeta/Cyrix
Make a "KILLER" motherboard with modem/sound/video built-in!
Sabotage future Celeron-type chips from being overclocked or SMP'd
Make more bogus roadmaps
