Look, MSGT McPervy, just because you can't look at TnA while working at your avionics bench, doesn't mean you are prevented from the rest of the internet.

As a civilian, I did that job for USN, using SuperScout, I WAS Mister Access Denied, and, backed by regulations, was very strict in sites I blocked. We even had several prosecutions. Do it on your own time.

As a former MTI at Lackland, in the pre-web era, I was used to whining airmen. But, please, you do know the military has a mission other than making sure you can look for Borat videos on YouTube, right?

Ever notice how those that have religion are very weak about their belief in it? It's as if a word spoken against it so threatens them that they must defend it vocally and almost violently. In fact, some get very violent about it. Their religion apparently cannot stand up on its own, it always needs the believers to prop it up.

Religionists want their religion to change their world, and they want to change the world to force it to accept their religion.

Many religions have missionaries. Most of them, the missionaries are as obnoxious, if not more so, than the religion itself. And, in many cases, the religion seems to survive in spite of their missionaries.

Now, that was about the OS wars. But, the same could be said about the theological religions as well.

Needless to say, GNU/Linux, etc has ran beautifully on removable media for years.

Needless to say, if anyone really used it, that would be a meaningful statement. Now, Joe User will think MS/SD is the ideal solution.

If Linux users want to be relevant, they need to court Joe User and not try to alienate him. They need to provide stuff he wants, like a huge ready to go software base he can get on his next trip to Costco/Best Buy/WalMart. Careful now, you scoff, and you'll be engaging in the exact behavior that turns Joe User off.

You want to take on MS, then take Joe User away from him. Apple was successful in pulling Artsy Fartsy Franky from MS, Linux needs Joe User.

But, if all this doesn't matter to you, then don't complain when MS does something and people like me let you know you had your chance. Win the war, adopt a strategy that will beat MS.

SciFi has done the same thing.

Back in the 70's, "Sci-Fi" was the schlock stuff that hacks turned out. "Creature From the Black Lagoon" and such. "SF" was what Asimov, Heinlein, Dick wrote.

When the Sci Fi channel debutted, a lot of SF fans were horrified with the moniker, but decided they could live with it as long as it was a home for SF. But, it has started to live up to the old definition of "Sci Fi" rather than the higher ideals of SF. We have lost the battle.

Oh, and when did wrestling ever get connected with either Sci Fi or SF? Besides some B grade movies being star vehicles for aging wrestlers.
