YMMV. You must realize that for some of us, this is not an exaggeration! That pretty much summed up my experience with Windows, which is why I'm a Linux user now. I don't know if it's the way I use a computer, or simply bad Windows karma, but every time I get on a Windows box I crash it constantly--and I'm not even doing really intensive things, either. So don't go calling people liars just because you didn't share the same experience.

Unlike Windows, you can replace the GUI at will, and there are certainly quite a few 2D wm's available. I just think a 3D one would be really cool :)

Who says a 3D interface would have to play by the same rules? Perhaps someone could design a taskbar that brings you to the window of your choice automatically. Why would this be any different than a 2D wm? I think you begin to depend on a certain interface, and if it has shortcomings, you tend to start relying on them. For instance, in Windows you're stuck with just the one desktop. You get really used to minimizing and maximizing windows in order to multitask, even though that's not the best way to do it. When I switched to Linux, I was amazed at how simple a change the multiple desktops were, and how fricking useful they are. Nowadays I feel restricted and contrained when I use Windows because of that. When you get down to it, a 3D inteface would really be nothing more than a more efficient way of arranging windows.

Well, duh, of course it beats the V3. A lot of PC cards also blow away the V3. But how likely do you think it will be that that a chipset being output to a tv will beat, say, a GeForce 256 running at 1280x1078? The resolution difference alone will give the computer an advantage. Let's also consider that a V3 is 16-bit. It's like how the @Home guys keep comparing their service to a 28.8. I don't think it's very likely the Dolphin will be able to beat a 32-bit card running at a decent resolution, 'cause it'll always have to output to a tv.

To begin with, we need to get this idea out of our heads that a kid who accidentally looks at a nude human being will be emotionally or socially injured in some way. The only reason this is such a big deal is because of the long tradition of Puritanical/conservative/whatever values in this country that associate sinfulness/evil with the nude human form. This is completely artificial, and the sooner that sentiment is gone, the better.

Yes, I agree that that attitude is articifical, but nowhere in Christian belief does it say the human body in itself is sinful, naked or not. There is nothing inherintly wrong with nudity, it has more to do with how your culture as a whole views it. And in Western culture, nudity is very much tied to sexuality--and that is where the idea of nudity as sin comes from. In fact, a lot of the Bible was written in a time when public bathing was really the only way of doing it. In the Roman civilization, for instance, nudity was perfectly innocent and had nothing at all to do with sexuality.

No, EULAs and other click-wrap licensed are completely different from the GPL, because software companies won't allow you to see the conditions of the license until after you agree to it. Yes, they give you a yes/no screen, but at that point you've already bought and opened it, and software stores won't refund something that's been opened. In contrast, the GPL is freely accessible to anyone here.
