We have had a few cases at Tesla where someone in a less represented group was actually given a job or promoted over more qualified highly represented candidates and then decided to sue Tesla for millions of dollars because they felt they weren't promoted enough. That is obviously not cool."

So Musk is openly bragging about discriminatory practices at Tesla.

  2. Does this "sort of things" include yelling Allah Akbar prior to blowing oneself up in a crowded area? Also who gets to decide on definition of "very good"?

  3. In that case, you should aggressively advocate religious fundamentalism as you claim it reduces undesirable human behavior.

However, empirically observing modern geopolitics - fundamentalist regions are universally vile places filled with human suffering while secular places tend to be some of the better places to live.

  4. This is 'No true Scotsman' fallacy. How many people, other than Jesus, would universally fit most definitions of 'god fearing'? Its an aspiration and ideal, not a method of reducing criminality.

  5. Yes, what you say is mostly true - they excel at definition stretching, moving goalpost and so on. However, all of this comes AFTER basic fact checking. After all, if you have clean and factual argument, why resort to shenanigans?

That is, fact checking would still be the first step in the process.

  6. Do you think fear of God stopped anyone from doing bad things to other humans?

  7. You would be crazy to make something up like that, as THE ENTIRE SJW LEGION will be fact checking such statements.

Problem is much bigger than security. Lets say I designed a very secure smart TV that I also regularly patch. The problem of this TV listening on my conversations and inserting ads into my feed remains.

This why I think only legislative solution could work. We should have clear rights to our own data, so we can stop on-going theft of it.

Amazon business model is a mail order catalog but on Internet. Therefore, we don't need to speculate how it would work - we can know for sure by looking at historical precedents. Smartphones and iPhone were different case, it isn't "phone on the Internet" but entirely new platform that created its own demand. Genius of Jobs was to recognize that people wanted access to cat pictures 24/7. No sane and rational individual would have guessed this is the case. The only way Amazon can be this Jobs-disruptive is if they come up with a new platform (e.g. e-reader for food) or a new method of delivery (e.g. drone to your drone landing pad).
