BSG has become crap. Sure, the story's great and I want to know what's happened, but the characters are so flawed (and *only* flawed) that they're not worth a shit... it's so sad that I couldn't care less if all of them die. The only character worth anything is Helo -- the single character that has some principles and sticks to them. The rest are annoyingly arrogant, self-centered, self-serving morons.
Now they want to do more of the same, but without spaceships and explosions?
I've talked to a DP (director of photography) or two -- Red is more hype than product. It has a lot of problems but the company's marketing is brilliant -- everyone talks about Red and, on paper, it's fantastic, but the post-processing involved is tremendous because of the uneven output (massive graininess, bad sound, improper white-balancing, dynamic range issues, lost footage, etc. -- all depending on which firmware rev. is on the camera).
While it's considerably cheaper, you get what you pay for, although it may be ready for prime-time in the next 3 - 5 years.
You can view the HTML output, but not the code itself, as their disclaimer states.
Of course, that's like saying you can read my book, but not the words.
My guess: very Earth-centric items, such as Humvees (not all-terrain military vehicles, but straight-on Hummvees on Caprica), most of the hand weapons (at least in Star Wars, they covered them in other peices to make 'em look different), etc.
As for the actual effects and the production value altogether, it's top-notch.
Waiting patiently for Mentats, eh?

I was gonna write the same thing.
Same here... I installed it on a P4, a Core Duo, and the 64-bit version on a Q6600 machine -- no problems on any of them.

"...disorientate enemies"? It's correct, but it shouldn't be. :)
