Last time I checked Co2 was used in fire extinguishers. Now you go mixin it around in all that Oil and Gas and they'll be useless until you seperate it. Which cannot be done at a reasonable cost.
FYI; Co2 is used to fracture producing zones to increase production rates then vented into the atmosphere until the percentage is less than 2%. On average between 60 and 200 tons of liquid Co2 is used per frac job. http://www.geo-testing.com/ There are plenty of depleted wells to store all the excess Co2 this nation can produce, the problem is the cost of capturing it, transporting it and pumping it down hole. That could run into the tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars per day per disposal well. The equipment already exists, the dollars do not.
"But we are actually still coming out of the last ice age," Not so. We are nearing the end of the warm period between ice ages. Ice age = 100,000yrs (roughly) Warm Period = 10,000yrs (roughly) And we're about 10,000yrs into the warm period. Sooo... the catch phrase for the new millinium may well become, "Grab yer parka boys It's gonna be a cold night!"
Silly indeed. They are simply hedging their bet by stipulating a commonly overlooked mistake when allowing "contestants" to guess at any given problem.
According to Dr. Alfred Zuekec and Raul Paldonis at the Institute of higher Awareness in Peru there is an 22% likelyhood of a contestant guessing right when attempting an answer with a "wild" guess as opposed to a true, well thought out, "random" guess. The data they have put together clearly shows an advantage when wild guessing as shown in
this formula; g=:(&:^\ ~ wg=:)&:^}~
This among other well known guessing patterns such as the 'Positive Attitude Reinforced' method known as "kurnling", in some circles, also play an important role in establishing a right answer.
Whereas the 'Negative Attitude Wild Guess' method often results in a correct answer, the contestant is often disqualified for obvious reasons.
No I can't say I blame them for not allowing wild guesses. It saves time and often it saves lives.

Hate to corect you but Howard Dean RAN for President. He did not become President.
And he's still on the loose...
I've always thought of creativity and lazyness as a symbiotic relationship.
P.S. I was too lazy to write this so I'm using voice recognition software to do it for me.
Man I hate breathing, it's so laborious...
