I thought they were referring purely to software tabs. It would be pretty devious if they are in fact referring to their alt-tab functionality but trying to apply it to software tabs..
No, but they'd better come up with a better reason than it's "confusing" to have more than one "App Store".
Though technically I wouldn't be surprised if the iOS and Mac app stores are run off of the same infrastructure. Perhaps you can probably even buy iOS apps from your Mac - but they server different devices/markets. Anyone who finds Amazon having an App Store confusing, will also find the Apple App Store confusing.
I think they'd have been better off just saying that it would be illegal to do it without the API, rather than saying "It's possible, but it would suck". I don't think they'd have to hack Amazon's servers directly, just break Kindle DRM, but that's still illegal.
If Amazon having an App Store will "confuse" people, then surely OSX having the "Mac App Store" will also cause confusion and mislead customers? Seems a bit of a double standard there. Either that or they're just talking out of their ass.
It's interesting that the "quality they expect from themselves" depends entirely on them not actually doing any work themselves. I know I could build a quality [insert product here] if I were given enough time to research and develop. The fact that they say it just wouldn't be good enough, rather than it would take too long, is kind of sad.
Don't worry, they're lining the inside of the windows with iPhone 4s hooked up to cameras which are built into the solar cells so that you get a good view at all angles, at retina resolution.
Besides, if I want to really appreciate prose for prose' sake, I'll read poetry..
I just realised this was possible the dumbest thing I've ever actually said, since the thing that distinguishes prose from poetry is that it's basically "writing that isn't poetry". I guess everyone know's what I meant at least. Probably should have said "if I want to really appreciate writing for writing's sake, I'll read poetry rather than prose".
Try reading to the end of the summary. Here, I'll help:
The Android platform infringes a number of Microsoft's patents, and companies manufacturing and shipping Android devices must respect our intellectual property rights.
Thorin (as played by John Travolta): And you know how the humans drink their beer? Bilbo (as played by SLJ): They don't drink it out of acorn cups? Thorin: No lad, they've got big hands. They wouldn't know how the fuck to hold an acorn cup. Bilbo: Then how do they drink it? Thorin: They drink out glasses the size of your head. In PINTS.
I had heard that the Hobbit was written more of a kid's book, but I do feel it's a better story. I got kidn of bored in the LOTR films too. Which is difficult because everyone else in the world seemed to love them (that's possibly part of the reason I got so fed up with them, people wanting to re-watch them so much).
Terry Pratchett books are excellent in the plot and prose/wordplay departments, yet they don't bog down in unnecessary detail as LOTR does. Besides, if I want to really appreciate prose for prose' sake, I'll read poetry..
Likewise, I really enjoyed The Hobbit. When I attempted LOTR I got bored near the end of the second book (well, "book" IV of VI I suppose), and never picked it up again. It's a far better paced story than LOTR.
I think it's like the difference between Star Wars VI-VI and I-III. I-III try to be far too epic, and fail miserably. The first movies felt a lot more personal, and so did The Hobbit. Also, changing the ring from a simple invisibility charm to the "one ring to rule them all" felt like too much of a stretch for me, and kind of spoiled how cool it was.
Or he could, you know, earn money from actually knowing "computer stuff" which other people can't be bothered to learn, but are willing to pay quite well for. Would it surprise you to know that my mother doesn't even have a basement? And that I don't even live in her house? I also have a large music and media collection, though I can't be assed ripping all the movies. More likely I will be on a monthly HD streaming service before I ever need to do that.
The cost of a cert of a year is less than a typical day's wages though, and if your clients are entering in any kind of personal info to your site then HTTPS should be a requirement. It isn't so much a problem if you just need a payment method though, as you could use PayPal or some other checkout system, and they will be HTTPS by default.
They aren't exactly expensive though. Slight pain in the ass to set up, but not that bad. I just use a self signed cert on our own site since it's only employees that need access to the private section.

Ack, the lack of IPv4 addresses is depleting our alphabet!
In a bad mood today? There's an app for that!

Actually, since 'shop is an abbreviation of workshop, Photoshop == Photo Workshop, which is pretty descriptive IMO.
Need to make an app for that? There's an app for that.

That clearly depends on whether you have to clean it out of your keyboard after.

Eh, I don't think our fear of radiation poisoning is that irrational. Nuclear powered rockets do sound pretty useful though.
That is in fact what I was implying, yes :p

Whatever. The point is that it doesn't matter if something that's wrong is possible. What matters is if you choose to do it or not.
Clearly :) ABANDON SHIIIIP!
It's kind of funny that they think they can patent "natural ways of interacting" too..

Yeah, and if women weren't so easy to rape then rape wouldnt' be an issue either.. it's clearly the women's fault.
